Read Murakami's "Norwegian Wood," and now I'm filled with a great urge to listen to the Beatles all night. My sleep schedule is thoroughly messed up, again, and I'm up all night. Signed a new apartment lease, gotta muster the courage to break the news to the landlord one of these days.
I finally finished The Name of the Rose. Dense! Basically a work of poetry, philosophy, and church history in the guise of a murder mystery. Slowest I've ever read a novel. Must've taken four hours for the last 100 pages, jeez. I'm almost convinced I have to learn Latin, now... Where's my damn LLPSI...

Finally watched Jacob's Ladder. Man, that was grim, but very impressive, totally different from what I expected.
I think I see it. People say "enshittification," they say "digital detox," they're filled with self-loathing for their wasted lives and endless hours at the reels. A million youtube video "essays" about how the internet is getting worse, and they still propose solutions. I see the end, I hope. When finally this pile of bits is so unpleasant that we all collectively regain our sanities and return to the real world; none of this is real, and it's better the worse it gets. AI can't ruin it any sooner.
It's some 27C in my apartment, and rising. I drink hot, black coffee at my desk while getting blasted by a cheap, plastic fan from the 80s. I suffer, and it's my own doing. In other news, I've been playing Pentiment. It's really interesting to learn about the peasant revolts, the 12 articles, the different Christian sects... I think I want to read Umberto Eco's Name of the Rose, soon...
i've been working on a video game dev project, lately. it sure is a huge amount of work, but pretty satisfying. endless, seeming.
Decided to journal, oh ok there's RedNoteBook, then I was told about Obsidian and now I've gone and spent a whole day being evangelicised by culty people about how they've translated their entire lives into notes about writing notes about making blog posts about Zettelkastens and MOCs. That said, it is pretty cool and I'm excited to litter a database with nothing useful until it bursts at the seams and I have to start over.
I was reading Pynchon's "TheCrying of Lot 49." I was initially intimidated by his reputation as the author of Gravity's Rainbow, but... it's both hilarious and super entertaining throughout. Didn't expect it. Also- "Kinneret-among-the-pines" is the coolest place name of all time. Why aren't real places called like this?

Been getting into the habit of mending my own clothes, it's pretty fun. My jeans have four patches on them (mainly small), sewed the torn armpit of a jacket, and the groin, belt buckle friction hole, and butt of some hiking pants. I will ship of Theseus them until the final black hole evaporates.
Made some bookmarks from card stock by splattering fountain pen ink, then laminating them. They came out really great. You can do so much with ink splatter, depending on pour height, shaking, wet-mixing etc.
I have purchased a sweet armchair, the oskarshamn from Ikea. The red one. It's so good, but I had never realised just how expensive furniture is! Horrible! I'll never recover, financially.
