@five_over_four - Ugh I see. I'm rather opposed to that kind of content, and also opposed to totalitarian surveillance states taking over everything. Isn't this already kindof the case for most social media platforms? Or is there a different element here, because of the nature of the content involved? · 4 months ago

Just today, a report was released stating that Meta and Microsoft;

- Microsoft: $101.8 billion, approximately €89 billion, up 15%.

- Meta: $5 billion, approximately €30.6 billion, in the first half of the year

But are people being offered an alternative? We all know that there are alternatives to almost any product or service on the internet, but do people want to think about and look for alternatives? It's too much effort, so we'll just complain later. Read today that the Police are going to ramp up Live AI facial recognition by over 200% and the other day read about a new police unit been setup dedicated to monitoring social media etc... Complete Orwellian state. Outwardly criticize China for their mass surveillance and suppression of information etc... then use it as a fucking play book. The rest of Europe is no better nor the US so where are sane folks supposed to go?
