I really hate the direction python has taken over the past ~5-10 years wrt new features. it reeks of corpo sponsors who realized too late that python was a poor choice for their giant web app and now they want crap like type hints to try and bandaid over that poor choice. If you need type-checking, python is not the language to use lol

inside baseball time: js8call is called a "conversational mode" but I've had exactly zero QSOs despite many CQs but you better believe I always get a response to a heartbeat transmission. Like, what use is the capacity for chatting if nobody is gonna use it for anything but a glorified wspr beacon?? I have more fun making automated contacts on ft8, at least nobody over there is pretending they're doing anything but exactly what it is they are doing.

How does anybody even use ddg anymore? the results are awful and it often ignores search operators, especially in image search, and it just includes results you didn't ask for with no option to disable the misfeature. Stop treating me like a moron and give me the things I requested, not the things you think I'm looking for! GAHHH so frustrating

Is a solar panel really "off-grid" if you gotta make recourse to the grid when it breaks??? I dunno, seems more like a dingy that you sometimes get brave enough to untie from the big ship but imemdiately re-fasten as soon as dark clouds show up on the horizon. It's technically "off-grid" but maybe not in spirit.
