I really hate the direction python has taken over the past ~5-10 years wrt new features. it reeks of corpo sponsors who realized too late that python was a poor choice for their giant web app and now they want crap like type hints to try and bandaid over that poor choice. If you need type-checking, python is not the language to use lol

Companies seem to have an awful habit of taking whimsical hobby languages and treating them like a lingua franca. Javascript, Python, etc. Hard to say whether that's better than enforcing company-developed OOP languages like Java/C#/Go. · 5 months ago
