How does anybody even use ddg anymore? the results are awful and it often ignores search operators, especially in image search, and it just includes results you didn't ask for with no option to disable the misfeature. Stop treating me like a moron and give me the things I requested, not the things you think I'm looking for! GAHHH so frustrating

Not a massive fan of Brave generally, but search.brave.com isn't actually too bad of a search engine. I particularly like how you can perform searches through various "Goggles" that prioritise certain sites as per your selection. It's definitely an interesting feature if I'm primarily looking for results from humans/social networking, or news from news sources that lean in a particular way. · 6 months ago

@dsilverz I think you are blocked because of your location, there are lots of compromised devices in Brazil. · 6 months ago
Ignoring search operators was a dealbreaker for me. Though lately I've caught Google ignoring them as well, both via Startpage and on its own. · 6 months ago
@userfxnet that doesn't burst my bubble, that's what I was saying.. they mostly (including DDG) source from Bing, so it doesn't matter which one I use and there's no reason to switch to a different one. · 6 months ago
@driusan sorry to burst your bubble… — “… we largely source from Bing.” Source: https://duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-help-pages/results/sources :I · 6 months ago
I still use it because the Google search results have also become unuseable and most of the other search engines are just frontends to Bing. · 6 months ago
I came across Mojeek the other day and noticed with great delight that it has an advanced search that allows for search operators. As much as I have loved DDG for years now, I think I will make the switch permanently because yeah, while still better than Google, they're way worse than they were
