Heyyyy, my first post on the station! I've also just released my first post in my own capsule at gemini://gemini.manello.space/ . Feel free to read up! I also wanted to ask the people here if everything is working as typical geminauts expect it to be :)

@manello interesting.
I'm a software engineer. Seems like mine is a much lower stakes field in general. I've worked for space-related companies as a contractor but we were in low-stakes stuff. · 8 months ago
Hi~ I'm also new here! nice to meet you all~ · 8 months ago
@kaod Yeah, just like you described it. I develop parts/subsystems on request. There are plenty of companies out there that need a hand when the next deadline is coming closer. Which field exactly are you from? · 8 months ago
From your capsule:
Today I work as an self-employed electronic engineer specialized in space ready electronics.
Interesting. I can see how being self-employed works in my field, but it's not obvious to me how space electronics allows self-employment. I would have guessed the field is tightly integrated and consists mostly of large orgs composed of in-house departments.
So are you some sort of contractor that designs specialized electronics at request? Or how would you explain your professional arrangement? · 8 months ago
@fab thx! @danrl Haha she probably was right... If you told our younger versions from the 90s/00s how the web is today, we might have never supported it in the way we did. (Or at least in the way I did) We would awe at how humanity will trash something that has such a great potential · 8 months ago
yep, the web is broken. and i stopped counting all the ads promising “a trick doctors hate”!
maybe mom was right after all and i should spend more time outdoors? · 8 months ago
@manello Your capsule looks good so far. Keep at it! · 8 months ago
