I've been lurking around Gemini for quite some time. Is this protocol better suited for reading and writing on the net than others? Sure, the www may be broken, but is a multitude of newly developed or revived protocols really the answer? What problem does Gemini solve that Gopher didn't solve a long time ago? I'll probably only find out if I try it myself.
Here is a project: I'm worried about my German fading. I hardly use it anymore. I mean, actively. I still read a lot. But the less I use the language, the faster it slips away. I can certainly feel it and it's not a pleasant feeling.
What I have in mind writing may at first glance look like the usual gemlog. But that's not what it's intended to be. Everything that will appear here has somehow happened to me, but not at the time indicated, not necessarily in the order indicated, in exactly the places indicated, etc. That's why everything is written in third person - to create a certain distance, without which I probably wouldn't have the interest to delve into these things. The triggers for writing are usually few and far between. 'Nichtigkeiten'.
