@stack it's not as creepy as it might sound. Everything happens in small boxes. It also works well in the basement of the house and if you have too many flies you can also release them in the garden. The birds are happy about it....

you can also professionalize it all and then make money with insect proteins or edible insects ;)

In the course of my mantid breeding, I was forced to deal with breeding flies, especially houseflies and blowflies, but also black soldier flies, because mantids need live food. I found that breeding flies had to be well organized, otherwise you end up with too many flies all of a sudden and possibly at the wrong time.... But currently the mantids are big enough to feed grasshoppers too. That makes it easier. Is anyone here currently breeding insects? Privately, professionally?
