In the course of my mantid breeding, I was forced to deal with breeding flies, especially houseflies and blowflies, but also black soldier flies, because mantids need live food. I found that breeding flies had to be well organized, otherwise you end up with too many flies all of a sudden and possibly at the wrong time.... But currently the mantids are big enough to feed grasshoppers too. That makes it easier. Is anyone here currently breeding insects? Privately, professionally?
