Google News is Now Promoting a Parasitic Slopfarm Called "findarticles.com", Where Plagiarism of "Linux" Articles is Rampant

Posted by Roy Schestowitz on Oct 20, 2025

More Publishers and Companies Nowadays Say "GNU/Linux", Not "Linux"
Gemini Links 20/10/2025: Pumpkin Carving, "Hey Hi", and Other Buzzwords

Does Google even care about the slop epidemic? Google itself is a vendor of slop now (and it calls it "Gemini")

Some hours ago Jack Wallen, Contributing Writer at ZDNet, published the following original review/article:

HTTPS: ZDNet
HTTPS image: I found the new Asmi Linux fast and fun to use - if you're not afraid of a little setup work

Hours later LLM slop and slop images targeted this article:

HTTPS image: Slop or fake: Asmi Linux is fast, flexible, and worth a little setup

What is this domain and why does Google News promote it as a news source? Does Google do any vetting?

More new examples (hours-old) with "Linux" in them:

HTTPS image: Slop or fake: Android’s Linux Terminal lacks Snapdragon support
HTTPS image: Slop or fake: Pixel 10 leads Android in Linux app support

Who does this slopping? In their own words: "Gregory Zuckerman is a veteran investigative journalist and financial writer with decades of experience covering global markets, investment strategies, and the business personalities shaping them. His writing blends deep reporting with narrative storytelling to uncover the hidden forces behind financial trends and innovations. Over the years, Gregory’s work has earned industry recognition for bringing clarity to complex financial topics, and he continues to focus on long-form journalism that explores hedge funds, private equity, and high-stakes investing."

Well, "Gregory Zuckerman" is impressively productive with literally HUNDREDS of 'articles' today alone (and the day isn't even over yet!).

Notice the date and arrow pointing to the scrollbar. Can a human "generate" 100,000 'stories' a year? No.

So it's fake. It's all fake.

Let's see if Google will correct this. Or how long it'll take.

To demonstrate just how bad this problem is becoming we took this screenshot:

HTTPS image: Slopfarms

In this portion alone 8 are slopfarms, i.e. sites that are 100% fake articles (slop).

Imagine being a Web surfer trying to locate actual journalism about "linux" this week. █
