Today's EPO is a rogue institution, just like some governments. Being a combination of corrupt and powerful, it now censors critics, imprisons opposition, crushes/bribes the media, and generally weeds out any remnants of dissent. Even the polls get rigged, as any unflattering polls are "seditious" or "propaganda".
