There are so many issues with the above Slashdot page. Set aside the fact that a lot of stuff ends up on OneDrive without the users realising it (new defaults).

It also overlooks the simple point that opt-in/out isn't the key thing; no such thing should be done at all (ever); many people shown in photos never consent to that. The "EFF security/privacy activist Thorin Klosowski" misses the point as well, but follow the money...
