Decided to forget the job search and just go back to school. Classes start in September, should be pretty straightforward. Really disappointing job search, I've come to despise recruiters and recruiting firms.

Thanks all! I’m feeling pretty good about the future, I just have to avoid being embittered. · 4 months ago

That said, school can be great. I love wisdom. I hope the classes provide growth in your humanity, or the tools to do the same later in life. Enjoy. · 4 months ago

I hear you. It's tough. IMO the job search options are something of a racket. It's the actual human connection... "Knowing people who know people" that is in my mind a much more reliable way to find good work. It helps to be a part of a community already, one that's not solely based on professional advancement. Despite job websites, every good job I've gotten was found that way. · 4 months ago

I spent four years trying to find work before I just gave up and went all in on gemstone cutting and repair.

Now people bring work to me. I like it a lot more even though the pay isn’t great. · 4 months ago

I'm so disillusioned with the system that I've considered intentionally sabotaging it further with AI applications, hah. · 4 months ago

By all rights, it ought to be easier than ever to find a job suited for a person's education and experience. Instead, we have created a digital labyrinth of fake postings, AI gatekeepers, and recruiters with perverse incentives. Good luck out there. · 4 months ago
