@fab - quite alright. Thanks for the reply. I wish I was adept enough to help with any of this stuff. · 2 weeks ago
@half_elf_monk Sorry, dude. I can't tell you anything about it. I just run it as my favorite Gemini/Gopher/Finger browser and sometimes help during testing. I don't know any C and also haven't messed around with Makefiles a lot, so I just can say: I don't know. But if you're interested you could participate in the development to make things better if you know C and Makefiles. · 2 weeks ago
@fab - Honest question. In the spirit of open-source applications, I took a look at the telescope install script, and could NOT understand what was going on, or why it was so involved. Have you looked at that code, and do you have any idea why the install script was so massive? · 2 weeks ago
I'm using Deedum on mobile and offpunk on my laptop.
I also have Lagrange installed on my phone, and amfora on the laptop. possibly others, but those are the ones I use · 2 weeks ago
lagrange and kristall (Desktop) & Lagrange and Rosy Crow (Android) · 3 weeks ago
I used to use Amfora when starting with Gemini in 2022, but it only supports the Gemini Protocol. Now I use the "Telescope Browser" from Omar Polo which is also a TUI browser but supports Gopher and Finger besides Gemini:

I can only recommend it if you prefer TUI browsers over GUI ones. · 3 weeks ago

How many of these browsers are in the repositories for various linux distros? I bet a lot more would get used, or at least tried, if they were available via apt/pacman/yay/etc · 3 weeks ago
AmiGemini is the reason I discovered Gemini! I also use Amfora but mostly for comparison testing these days. · 3 weeks ago
AmiGemini, as it runs on my Commodore Amiga :) · 3 weeks ago
Haha, I built an Android browser myself. It’s called “Vie Browser” (not Via), and it supports 35 different internet protocols, such as http, gopher, Gemini, nex, finger, rtsp, and more.Right now, I’m using the browser I made to reply to this post.Unfortunately, it hasn’t been adapted for international languages yet and currently only supports Chinese. · 3 weeks ago
Surprised I'm the only amfora person in the thread. Calm, text only. A little awkard about certs, but eh. · 3 weeks ago
