I'm at that point where I'm on the verge of totally dropping YouTube from my life.
It's nothing but ragebait and BS. There is one podcast that has gone all-in on it rather than spilt feeds over audio and rss, but that's no great loss.
Kind of the same reason I dropped TV 25 years ago, apart from a few torrented series it's all shite.

I personally only watch YouTube channels I follow, and I sometimes use Invidious at points too, even through the Tor browser. I also synced my YouTube channel to Peertube, I still don't regret doing this, since YouTube will delete a channel for bogus reasons. · 5 months ago
Comment system is broken. Weird censorship and forbidden words are making people talking like they're living into a dystopian regime. But I find music and videos I cannot find elsewhere. If you avoid to post, do not click on BS and ragebait for a while, but you look at music or something specific you like very much, algo change his behaviour gradually. I see a lot of Japanese stuff and algo shows me some ancient archery stuff, niche documentaries, old samurai series, people walking with a steadycam in the streets, buskers. It's a peaceful life. · 5 months ago
I honestly pretty much use YouTube just for listening to music... · 5 months ago
Ever look into yt-dlp, or youtube-viewer which uses yt-dlp on the backend? The latter lets you use your account over cli, even. If you'd like abstract further, there's also inv.nadeko.net and the countless other invidious instances up you can surf through.
Another interesting alternative I've run into is peertube, which has a wealth of great content, and of course archive.org has so much good stuff it's hard to pry from.
Hopefully some of this info helps. · 5 months ago
