ANSI Color Block Top 10 (percyshelley)

This is mirror of a 10-part series of articles on ANSI art in the Chinese/Taiwan BBS community.

Each part highlights a different piece of ANSI art, and discusses artistic qualities and the impact that it had on the larger scene. There are many references and comparisons to related works, and it's a great jumping off point to explore notable artists in this community.

This series is focused on "block style" ANSI art which uses block drawing characters and geometric shapes to create colorful pictures (although many of these pieces combine both block and line-drawing characters in creative ways).

It's really incredible stuff, and the first time that I've seen ASCII art critiqued as a legitimate art form.
