Many of the Attacks on Us Apparently Boil Down to Jealousy

Or at least motivated - or might one say propelled - by it
What compels people to troll and harass us? For once, or for one thing, had nobody listened to us, the detractors would not bother with the stalking. But people do listen, and therein lies "the problem". We attract leakers. We have whistleblowers. That gives us loads of exclusive stories, including an upcoming long series. It'll start later tonight (or in daytime) and it is guaranteed to have strong impact. It is perfectly timed, strategically too.
A lot of people out there are not trusted (no proven track record), aren't trustworthy, so they will never attract whistleblowers. They instead attack those who do.
Last year I wrote several articles about why the media attacks on Julian Assange were at least partly motivated or "inflamed" by the jealousy inside the heads of other journalists. They simply could not compete and had no original material. Some, instead, had collaborated with Wikileaks and benefited greatly from such fruitful collaborations.
Earlier this year I said and argued [1, 2] - with some concrete evidence - that many geeks attacked RMS because they envied what he had accomplished and they would never be able to replicate. The same goes for the FSF, which RMS created 40+ years ago.
Consider the latest from the Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC), which loses a ton of money (millions of dollars) to furnish or line the pockets of its horny-for-money President And Executive Director.
To use the analogy made in IRC last night:
Craig Wright: I invented bitcoin (nope!).
Shiva Ayyadurai: I invented E-mail (you did not!).
SFC: we invented GPL and speak for software freedom. Haha, you wish!
They attack those who did: SFLC (Moglen) and RMS.
Parasites. All of them.
One of the argument made against us in court is that we attract a lot of traffic and are "having parties" (quoting an actual claim). As if it's not OK to have a party when your site turns 15 (2019).
Envy is a negative trait that leads people to self harm. █
