MUCH of the media has been speaking about GNU/Linux usage globally (worldwide, as if all cultures and continents are the same, never mind BRICS [1, 2]), citing nothing but statCounter. It can be interesting to see national or per-nation breakdowns, figuring out where GNU/Linux is more (relatively) popular or ubiquitous than some other place or the average. We’re 14.5% in Norway (not even counting ChromeOS), more than 10% in Greece (just for GNU/Linux), and Turkey does not move to Apple but to GNU/Linux. India probably tilts the global figures in favour of GNU/Linux more than any other nation. As we showed last night, Windows has become rather minuscule in India when Android too is factored in. █
