Summary: Based on the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) site of Washington, it seems very unrealistic that Microsoft fired just 10,000 staff worldwide; in one state in the United States alone the number is about 3,000 already, not even counting temps and contractors or subsidiaries such as Nuance Communications [1, 2]
