i dislike that i call dear people in my life "family" as i don't really like my family, and in fact more likely to like someone off the rip if they don't remind me at all of people in my family. infact i wince a little bit imagining my friends as my cousins or whatver. but that's what the culture is so

12-10-25 i once had to clean the apartments of a bunch of chess players after a tournament wrapped up and without fail all of them were like smelled bad and the trash was all lined up in a line like one gave a very classically autistic toddler a bunch of empty coke bottles and that would be 1/5th of the room

12-2-25 people talk about the industrial revolution making the "machine"/efficiency into a theological truth and that's the reason people think about efficiency to such an extent in every part of life (love/economics/art) but I feel like a lot of it is because we have a lot more to lose now. Used to you'd just become a serf or a forest hermit if everything went to total shit. Can't do that now you can 100% just be left for dead
