Folding Kayaks...
Not sure why, but I keep looking at Oru Kayaks with envy and anger! I wrote up a page on my gemlog...

Fun. I owned a cheaper version, contour or something, whatever is available on the evil market place, although I bought it second hand. We had it for about 8 years and used it about 8 times. Then passed it on to a new owner when moving.
In London it was fun as we’d walk to a canal drop it in and paddle away. In Canada, it felt less ideal to drop into a big lake with actual boats around.
The bag was hard to take far and the kayak was somewhat crap to control as it had a tiny keel. Obviously that was my cheapo version.
By the way, I was originally inspired to do this by the author Paul Theroux, who was often travelling to exotic places and paddling with his inflatable boat. Very grumpy man, but good books.
Ps. Capitalisms failures are so rampant that this feels innocuous, though the solution of diy crowd sourced solutions is the way to go in most cases.
