I miss usenet. It seems the free servers (AIOE, eternal september) have been down for some time, and sdf also lost its feed. Anyone have a recommendation for a server (free or not)?

eweka.nl is great and pretty cheap

news.tcpreset.net:119 and paganini.bofh.team:119 are free to use and need no sign-up, so you can use them anonymously (via Tor). A very nice Web-based Newsreader is https://newsgrouper.org

There is so much encrypted crap, and the fakes to deal with... I really loved it but last decade hardly using it.

I used to do a lot on usenet but after uni it started filling up with junk that at this point besides release announcements for projects, there really doesn't seem to be much discussion going on there.

Discussions? After early 90's it was all about binaries. I always laughed about getting all my movies for free from Time Warner's servers...

Nice to see that comp.infosystems.gemini is still going strong (for a newsgroup in 2025, at least).
