Just curious, why are you opting-in emoji on demand instead of making all of them available?

As mentioned in the first comment, I want to keep control over them mostly to avoid potential UI icon conflicts. Many currently unlisted Emoji would probably be fine, though. It would be ideal if all available avatars were distinct enough from each other as well.

Maybe I'll loosen this up in the future...

Given my last name is Moonfire, I'd love for a non-face moon to be made available. Failing that, just fire.

Otherwise, the trigram for fire (which feels like cultural appropriation to me but moon or fire is better than nothing?)

@nikita I've given that some thought and I think I prefer that gender symbols are displayed via the flair mechanism. I'm still planning the appropriate implementation for personal flairs, though.

I want to change my pfp to a hedgehog/porcupine. 🦔

Bone and Hedgehog are now available. I decided to go with Dagger instead of Knife because the latter could conceivably be related to UI actions.

Surely scissors would be the choice for a ui option, eg cut. Getting a dagger when looking for a knife is like getting full cream cow milk when ordering oat milk. A similar product but not at all what is desired. ;-)
