are your posts interspersed with aggregated logs?

@gritty what’s that? I’m somewhat new to this tbh

nevermind… I’ve just found what you’ve meant.

on the page you linked I see aggregated posts from others. the tiny log is typically just your posts. I usually aggregate a timeline of tinylogs on a separate page using gtl.

I think that I fixed it… I’ll have to update the aggregation tomorrow; time to sleep in!

This looks intersting. Can someone explain to me like I'm still kinda new to tildes ...what a tinylog is? Pardon the awful comparison, but is it like an aggregate of one's tweets, in a publicly accessible one-file format? I guess it'd be more like a compilation of all your finger .plan's, put together. How is this used? Is it like a ocial media, or a microblog? What if I'm REALLY chatty and the file gets really big? sorry, I'm learning about tildes and this seems related thanks for coming to my TEDquestionstalk

@Half_Elf_Monk A tinylog is a simple gmi file on your capsule where you accumulate short entries in reverse chronological order with a header as a timestamp like "## 2025-04-15 09:30 CEST". After that comes maybe a reply line to the entry you are replying to. It's a pretty easy format (if you don't mess up the time zones). Then you have a list of other tinylogs which you can view in a reverse chronological list and reply to entries if you want.

To view the list of tinylogs you usually use GTL from @bacardi55, although it has some bugs and outstanding patches to be merged.

— GTL on SourceHut by @bacardi55 (www)
— My tinylog as an example
— My collection of tinylogs in a list to use with GTL
— gemini-tinylog-rfc by @bacardi55

@bacardi55 wants to update the RFC (especially the time/date format) before he'll merge the patches to GTL. But I can only advise you to include the patches yourself in your build of GTL and use an international timeformat with an UTC offset as TZ if your timezone is not common (they're not standardaized afaik).

I try to gather all the tinylogs I can get to make a most up-to-date list of them. For now I've accumulated 76 tinylogs.

I'm not sure what will happen if you have a really big tinylog but some people are very talktive on the tinylogs, but I haven't experienced any problems at least in that regard.
