The super fast Dillo browser has nowadays plugins for Gemini, Gopher, Man and Spartan protocols. Has anyone tried it out yet? => [https link]
Back to analog — I've been using a txt-file with a running list of dates and short codes, or bullets for tasks and a separate todo.txt file as a future log. But, I just bought a cheap 300+ page gridded journal and a fine 6 € Jinhao fountain pen, and some stickers, of course, to make it all analog again. I used to carry a pocket notebook for everything in one big updating notebook. I liked it, and the fact that I still have them. I can read what I did and thought about as teen in the nineties,...
I'm using Zoom75 with Nordic ISO. The keycap selection is very limited and I have had to build it out of several sets. ANSI has more variety to choose from, so I bought one. The Chillkey ND75. Now I have a new pain. Configuring the layout using Linux. The websites to program them requier win or applah. I have several tabs open to search how to make it, but havent found the energy yet. If you know an easy way to do it please share.
I did video editing on a raspberry pi 5 and it wasn't a miserable experience. I'm floored.
Suggestions for first project — I have always had a great deal of respect for C, and I would like to start writing in it. However, while I am skilled in other languages, I basically don't know any C off the top of my head. I find that I learn better and faster by attempting projects, rather than working through a book ir taking a class. For example, to learn Perl, I am working on a basic disk image writer that's coming along nicely. So, what do you think might be a good idea for my first C...
streaming radio on spartan — you can listen to it in lagrange browser. if you press pause, then resume will resume from the place you pressed pause. you need to close and reopen the tab to get the stream from the current place. otherwise you can listen to it via player. i guess via any spartan client that can pipe to a media player. one such a player is here: [https link] spartan radio player
Re-Alone? — I remember that I didn’t like the people on Earth: they were noisy, irritating, and I didn’t share most of their habits. They made me feel out of place, out of place for being who I am. Yet, from time to time, the presence of people different from me made me feel alive, because, in the end, we all need company, even if only in small doses. In the end, I knew I could always return to being alone with myself. Perhaps that’s why I feel at ease traveling in my spaceship… if I returned...
Welcome. You can share anything interesting about philosophy here. Your own notes, sources, discussions. Be free.
Rei by Mira — My girlfriend drew this and is now making free requests on Telegram. You're welcome, and you can make request in English.
Now I need to stop procrastinating and set up that Immich server I have been wanting to set up for so long.
I had asked about Doom running in Doom Emacs earlier and it left me wondering, what uses are there for Emacs besides things like coding? I don't code at all or use the terminal aside from some simple installations, running something from it if it doesn't run from the GUI shortcut, and just barely managing to compile protracker 2.3d clone once. I know about using it for writing, which I had planned on doing, but settled on obsidian then Joplin since it was open source so I could write on my pc...
Is there a video of Doom running in Emacs? Trying to search for it has just brought up videos about doom emacs with plenty of references to the game, but nothing of it actually running in Emacs. It'd only be fitting to see if Doom Emacs can run doom.
♟ CCC Rules — Capsuled Chess Circuit [gemini link] What do you think? Questions and suggestions are welcomed. @Half_Elf_Monk, @jmcs, @el3ctron, @roughnecks
Favicon logic — When I'm using Lagrange on android it picks up favicon.txt and on linux seems like it doesn't. Not a big deal but interesting what's the difference.
Do you browse the Geminispace with a GUI, TUI, or CLI client? — CLI = run in terminal with parameters to load a single page and immediately and automatically exit upon output, TUI = run in terminal once to load and navigate many pages in succession
Shivering Peppermint — I wanted to post a cute christmas themed peppermint themed Office scent lady, they're basically a series of office women that are personifications of candle scents, some real, some make believe.
Dead internet theory, but for Gemini? — I just popped back into Gemini after briefly investigating it about a year ago. A whole bunch of links, bookmarks, and lists of useful resources now seem to point to a dead link. I can feel the frustration mounting every time this happens and I question whether Gemini will be worthwhile if all the pages that help you find cool stuff are dead. Like islands in an ocean with no boats. Thank God Bubble is still around.
First post from my RGB30 Linux handheld console. As suspected, typing on this new on-screen keyboard is tedious, but it works! I've got Lagrange running on this thing, obviously. :)
daughter 1.0 used to have kde connect on her smartphone to copy files to a laptop. She broke the screen and I lent her an old one that was sitting in the drawer. Since I didn't have time to help her set it up she was left without kde connect. The funny part is that she connected to her school's google workspace account, yet she decided to send herself pictures via email to access them from the computer instead of using google photos or drive. Apart from feeling a bit hearybroken that my...
Anyone ever use OpenBSD with a desktop environment as a daily driver? How was it? Can you do most stuff on it? It sounds like a potentially fun project.
Anime I'm checking out — Since I wanted to watch more anime in my demographic (A female audience) and I might slowly watch more anime for a female audience over time. Anime for a female audience according to My anime list and some article I read online a year ago. I'll add more pictures later on this month.
Does anyone here know a good synth (digital or physical) specifically for things like gabber, (early) terrorcore, (early) hardcore and speedcore? Think less things like Angerfist and more like Rob Gee, KCMA & T-Plus, Speedfolter, and especially The Destroyer, if you've heard of any of them. I'm using REAPER currently but also planning on learning how to use a tracker like the Protracker 2.3d clone, any suggestions for a (free or relatively cheap) DAW that might be better for this than reaper is...
