dead ponds

It often feels like I'm making my way through a sludge and when I look into my head it's jumbled and unclear gibberish, like a pond filled with dead reeds and stirred up dirt and no fish. Nothing lives there. At least, nothing real. Algae, bacteria, and amorphous black.
