Happy friday the 13th. After a fair few days coding, I have successfully compiled a custom kernel on the visionfive2.

I have successfully built in the gpu firmware and yelled so much that I got it to load during boot.

I now have fully functioning DSI display, with 3D GPU support. Alpine linux is the flavor, with StarFive kernel patches to make the hardware work.

Only a single device tree mod was needed to get the networking operational. Updates as they come!
