07 Violence

This week, a far-right activist is dead, a member of different extremist groups of the right side, and inside a group named Nemesis. They are homophobic, racists, transphobic, xenophobic, provocatives and violent with all the people they hate. It was around a meeting of the french-palestinian european-deputy Rima Hasan. And as the bible says, sometimes, "They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind". This time, they faced other violent people, supposed from far left, for the moment. It was worse or at least similar in the 70s and 80s in Paris for example. The Justice will find who killed him...I could do a parallel with Charlie Kirk ? That's not exactly the same.

Charlie Kirk was a leader and ideologist of a homophobic, racist religious movement. This guy was only a young man lost in his far-right ideas, given the number of groups he has been involved with in recent years. He was someone who wanted to fight...not necessarily die. But when you fight for something with your body, it's always a risk. In the past few years, 20 people were killed or hundreds attacked by the far-right movements. Only one people from a far-right movement has been killed. The problem is that the Media and many politicians were quick to accuse the deputy's party (a left party, recently classified as far-left by the French government...without any justification), and anti-fascist movements as a whole, without distinction. It's the same as lumping the ALF, Sea Shepherd, and the WWF together for rights of animals. It's not a surprise to see those reactions from the right...It's more from the left but with elections in one month, it's a despicable electoral maneuver. This week, there was a minute of silence for that guy at the parliament...They didn't do it for people murdered by far-gight members.

For me, it's also another sign of the reversal of values, typical of a state that is sliding into fascism. We saw it recently in the USA. Many other countries in Europe are doing the same. There are only a few newspaper classified in the left who timidly rebel or do not take shortcuts. I'm not participating in the municipal elections (with the same party than Rima Hasan...). We are not enough in my city and other left parties didn't want us (especially their direction). I don't agree with some decisions in big cities and about foreign politics (my hobby...). But I'm trying to keep this alive for the next elections. During the last elections, I saw violence from the far-right on our posters with racist messages, and sometimes intimidation. And when I see that murder, I don't think it will be better now. It was difficult to find people to participate. It will be worse now, even if we go at 4 or five each time (and only 2 men) to put posters on the walls.

I'm convinced that my country will have a kind of fascist or dictatorial governement soon. President Macron showed signs of Fascism, qualifying his opponents as extreme, not republicans, only on the left, trying to change the rules in elections and constitutions, lying, ... The list is so long. All the ideas of the far-right are copied from the center to the right and even for some left politicians (as classified by the Media). It will be difficult for some racialized individuals or those who are simply different to survive in such a country. I know how France was during the Nazi occupation in 1940. I know why my grand father was imprisoned after being reported by his bosses for union activity. I know that the same ideas are in the mind of the right wing of the parliament. And if I will never use violence in Politics, I remember in which side violence is...and that Human is violent. I knew it was a bad idea to integrate some people and ideas in "my" party, because it gives opportunities for criticism from opponents. I know that center and center-left parties wanted to destroy left parties. They just forget that it's another way to facilitate the rise of the Far-Right and especially their ideas.
