RE: Social media and organising events

RE this post.

We’ve been using an AGPL dinky li’l Ruby CGI script called dudle.

It works similarly to how “Doodle” worked early on before it drowned in ads and bloat. You go to a web page, vote on days, and that’s it. There’s a simple plaintext discussion thread as well.

On our personal dudle server we run two crusty old Chicken 4 apps via cron. Autopoll runs every Monday morning and sets up a new week of polls. ProposeBot runs every Friday evening and counts up the votes and selects two dates for us.
