Migrating Antenna filters
As ew0k has announced that he may be discontinuing hosting Antenna on his server, several people have stepped forward to run Antenna instances. I have got one here:
gemini://antenna.ucant.org/
This is lightly synced to ew0k's canonical site, in terms of the feeds that it carries. What it does not do is support the same filters; everyone has different tastes, and we all find different things a bit spammy (including my own posts on Heterodox Technology and the like).
I have updated my 'filter-antenna' tool so that it can "migrate" a filter from one server to another. That's a misnomer - it just copies it to a new server. The filter on the new server will have a different ID from on the old server.
Here's an example of it in action:
bash$ ./filter-antenna --filter-id AbCdEfGhIjKlMnOpQrStUvWxYzAbCdEf --migrate-to gemini://antenna.ucant.org/
Migrating 46 URL(s) — estimated time: 138s (courtesy delay: 3.0s per request).
New filter ID: ZyXwVuTsRqPoNmLkJiHgFeDcBaZyXwVu
Filter URL: gemini://antenna.ucant.org/filter/ZyXwVuTsRqPoNmLkJiHgFeDcBaZyXwVu
If you have a lot of URLs filtered, the courtesy delay in the filter-antenna script will take a while to copy them over one-by-one. It prints out your new filter ID on the new Antenna instance.
Please let me know if it's not working on other Antenna instances. I've only really tested it on two of them.
