"CFA (Country Fire Authority) is a volunteer and community based fire and emergency services organisation. We help protect 3.3 million Victorians, and more than one million homes and properties across the state." -CFA

Volunteer Firefighters?!

Yep. Volunteer. No pay. It's amazing, really -- a community can harness the resources and skill necessary to protect itself. It can apply local knowledge & context to do this effectively. It's valuable, worthwhile community work and so far, I love it.

Log of fire call-outs

I'll keep a log of the call-outs I attend, partially just to have a record, partially because I don't think I'll remember how many I've actually attended, and partially to learn a bit more python, so I worte a script that does it :)

My call-outs log.
