The benefits of publishing sites over XMPP
This is a concise article which enumerates the benefits of publishing sites over XMPP, and it is intende for both, content publishers and software developers.
About
Since a couple of decades, it is possible to utilize XMPP as a publishing platform.
This technology is called Atom Over XMPP and is implemented by XEP-0472 and XEP-0277.
It is the integration of Atom Syndication Format with XEP-0060.
Minimal
By making your content available over XMPP, people would only need an XMPP client to interact with your site.
This means, that even people with older devices and computers, who can not even run the newish and bloated internet browsers, would be able to communicate to you, and contribute to the activity of your site.
CSS is optional, albeit it is handled by the XMPP client.
Overhaul, by publishing over XMPP, you are extending your reach and subsequently your publicity to more people.
Construct
The constructive structure of XMPP PubSub nodes reduces the need for publication platforms to generate a navigation menu.
Because the structure of XMPP PubSub nodes is fixated, XMPP clients can generate natigation menus based on the available PubSub nodes.
Safe
It is not possible to maliciously and connivingly embed ECMAScript (i.e. JavaScript).
This means, that your publication would be accessible in an immediate manner.
Efficient
The bandwith requirements are lower than of HTTP internet browsers.
Anonymous
People can connect to XMPP with their routine accounts or create acccounts that are intended for specific reasons.
In addition, the IP address is never disclosed to the publisher.
Proxy
Because XMPP requires accounts, be it anonymous or otherwize, it is possible to enjoy XMPP as a proxy which would circumvent censorship by hostname or IP address.
Update
It is possible to subscribe (i.e. "follow", so to speak) publications and receive immediate (i.e. "push", so called) updates and notifications.
