What ever happened to the answering machine?

I am out of town. Please leave a message, after the tone.

Do you remember it?

About

In the past, there were cassette tapes that were used for audio, audio books, music, video, and also for home recordings.

During the 70's to the 90's there were telephones with additional functionalities, such as local operator and also an answering machine.

An innovation which was considered for the prestige class.

For these devices, there were small audio cassette tapes that were specifically intended for recordings of telephony and meeting sessions.

These audio cassette tapes were utilized for portable audio recorders, and stationary telephone devices (i.e. "landline", so called).

Mobile

Since the proliferation of the mobile telephones (i.e. so called, cellular or cell phones), the functionality of answering machine was still available, yet there were two significant differences.

Storage

The recordings were remotely stored on a server computer from the telephony service provider

Whereas recordings of analogue stationary answering machine are locally stored in a cassette tape.

Accessibility

The recordings were reachable by calling to a special number that was specifically allocated to listen to recordings.

Whereas recordings of analogue stationary answering machine are immediately and privately accessible.

Interface

The system to choose recordings were stacked, and only audible.

Whereas recordings of stationary answering machine, especially digital, are visually categorized by the numbers of the callers.

Conclusion

Unlike digital stationary answering machine which the recordings were owned by us and under our own control, the government regulated mobile system, which governments foist upon subjects, neglects that service.

It is obvious, that stationary answering machines (i.e. recording systems that are built into devices), be it digitally or on a tape, are better than the inferior system which is currently offered by most government regulated telephony providers.

Consequence

Notice, that, today, we were conditioned to carry a dangerous and radioactive device, which also tends to have harassing and irritating messages.

It is an invisible and digital collar which is masqueraded as a tool to serve you.

It actually can serve you as a PDA (personal digital assistant), and you should remove the SIM (i.e. disable GSM capabilities) from it.

Consider to install DivestOS, or other Android ROM; or postmarketOS, or other Linux distribution.
