The Magic That Scares Me

Super short post, which I am writing because I mentioned the quote I wrote later in this post to a coworker in the last day...

I sometimes do electronics, although very simple electronics where the worst that will happen is that one of the components blow out and release the "Magic Smoke".

With that context in mind, and after getting a good discharge to my fingers from a large capacitor and having friends that got even better discharges to their hands/fingers from larger capacitors, I have realized that electricity can be a bit much sometimes...

Some friends of mine are electricians, and some have to deal with incredibly dangerous situations. I also have some chemist friends. A particular friend of mine told me a scary story a that I promised not to repeat in order to protect the friend's job.

I have felt this before but after hearing the scary story, this quote of mine is especially correct:

Chemistry and Electricity are both magic, but if you say the magic spell wrong, you die...

Stay safe out there, or at least try to get a (de)merit badge for the spicy adventure you are on!
