Hit the key to Continue Page 1 of 11 * _______________Great!______________ Now you know that hitting the key flips to the next card. Page 2 * I use QuickFile to keep track of name and numbers of my friends and associates. The next page is a sample card from my QuickData Page 3 * Joe Smith 1212 Main St. Anyville, MW 99999 Loves chestnuts Sent a sample proposal 6/6/85 Page 4 * Two new things.... Hold down the key when hitting and QuickFile will flip back a page. Try this out now. Page 5 * To edit the cards, simply click the mouse inside the round rectangle and type just as if you were using MacWrite. Try to fix this incorrrrect sentence. To return to the top, press or just click to the right of the word Find: Page 6 * To search for a card, type in the word to search for next to Find: and hit . If you hit more than once, all of the cards with the word that you typed will be displayed in order. QuickFile will beep if the card is not found. Page 7 (On the next card is an example) * Try searching for the word chestnuts. When you find it, hit again and this card will be displayed (because it also has chestnuts in it). Now in order to get to the next page, erase the word that you typed next to Find: and hit as usual. Page 8 * You do not need to type in a whole word when searching for a card. Search for nuts (you will need to hit a total of three times in order to cycle back to this card) Page 9 * To start your own file, throw away the QuickData and run QuickFile. An empty QuickData will then be created for you to use. P.S. I put in the Page numbers myself, they are not automatic. Page 10 * That is all you need to know to start using QuickFile, but you should also look through my article in the 6/85 Active Window. I took the liberty of including the text of that article on this disk. To read it, pull out the MockWrite desk accessory and open the file: QuickReview. Page 11 * To get rid of this instruction file and install the public domain software file, quit to the Finder, trash "QuickData" and rename "Directory" to "QuickData" Then, whenever you start up on this disk, an electronic catalog will be loaded in QuickFile.
