You are the commander of either the Union or Rebel army and the object is to eliminate the enemy troops! Best for experienced war gamers, incomplete documentation. * 3D Animator 1.0 Education 5 After plotting points, 3D Animator will draw the outline of the object and rotate it. * 3D Tic-Tac-Toe Desk Accessories 2 A classic game of three-dimensional Tic-Tac-Toe in a desk accessory. * 400K & 800K Icons Utility 7 By assigning different icons to 400K and 800K disks, you can tell them apart easily in the finder. These icons install with the Resource Editor. * 512K Copy Utility 2, Rolodex Copies disks in one pass using all 512k of memory, for mass duplication or even just a single copy. * A-Talk Desk Accessories 4 Gives the device name or number of your Mac, socket # and node #. Uses the AppleTalk glue routine provided in the new 128K ROMs. * A.B. Speaks 1.1 Education 4 Sings the alphabet in the traditional manner or speaks individual letters of the alphabet. Has a feature to test children on letters by speaking them and then asking the child to click on the right letter. * Abacus None Desk Accessories 3 For those of you tired of the calculator of today here is a real working abacus. Consult a large encyclopedia on its use. * Adventure System 1.0 Games 8 Am environment for creating and playing adventure games. * Adventures of Snake 2.1b Games 8 An arcade style game for one player, similar to a very old Atari game in that you control a snake by turning right and left avoiding barriers, the edge of the field, and your tail. As you eat food by running into it, you grow longer and the game becomes more difficult. Several levels of play are included for those who get past the first level. * Amazing Games 1 Maze game with varying difficulty. Used on the guided tour diskettes as an example of both the Macintosh's speed and ease of use. If you are desperate, you can ask the Macintosh to solve it for you. * Amortize 1.0 Utility 8 A very un-Maclike program for calculating amount of loan payments. * Anatomizer 1.0 Education 5 This program uses graphics to teach. It will highlight a particular portion of the graphic and at the same time, display appropriate text at the bottom of the screen. If MacinTalk is on the disk, Anatomizer will also speak the text. * Animator Desk Accessories 4 Select area of screen you want to animate and watch it go. Has a speed control button and fatbits image of the area around the cursor. * AntiFreeze Utility 9 This FKEY may prove helpful when the mouse freezes up, and will not move on the screen. It is not guaranteed to work every time, and it should be used only as a last resort. * Apple Fonts Font 3 These are the fonts that Apple distributes with the Macintosh system disk. Why are they here? Some of you manage to lose a few, also new large sizes of several fonts have come out. Also included are the new LaserWriter fonts. These fonts are indispensable! * Apple Windows Developer 5 These WDEF resources replace the ones in your system file and give you Apple shaped windows instead of rectangular ones. They are fully functional, but somewhat odd to use! Contact George for source code and instructions on constructing the apple shape. * Archiver 1.0 Utility 7 Backs up and restores files from an MFS volume to floppies. * Ars Magna 1.0 Ars Magna An anagram finder. (For example, ars magna is an anagram for anagram, a rearrangement of the letters in a word or phrase to form a new word or phrase.) Crude user interface, but very powerful dictionary search and combination routines. Finds all anagrams of up to 10-15 letter phrases remarkably quickly. Large dictionaries, includeing names, on the disk, and you can add your own. * Artisto 1.0 Desk Accessories 4 Lets you select up to an entire MacPaint document for pasting into other applications. This is something you can't do with the scrapbook, and is very useful. * ASCII Chart Developer 2 Displays an ASCII table with decimal, hex, and octal equivalents * Ashes to Ashes Games 6 A Missile command arcade-style game, fast and difficult. * AutoBlack Utility 9 When AutoBlack is installed, after five minutes of user inactivity, the Mac * screen will go black to prevent burning an image of the desktop (or whatever is * on the screen) into the phosphor of the CRT. * Autocursor 1.0 Utility 2 A small program that modifies your system file so that the pointer will always change over to a watch if the Mac is busy for more that 0.5 seconds. Very useful for hard disk systems. * Autodial 1.1 Communications 1 A desk accessory that adds an autodialing feature to MacTerminal. * Autolog 1.1 Desk Accessories 2 Allows MacTerminal users to set-up automatic log-on procedures. * BackDown Alpha Desk Accessories 4 Background XMODEM downloader. Lets you keep working in another program while downloading files at up to 9600 Baud! This Alpha version doesn't support automatic MacBinary conversion, so you'll also need BinHex, but it will come in a later version. * Backgammon Games 1 Standard backgammon game that can be played against the Macintosh or another human. Very graphic (with a 3-D effect) but beware that it lets you cheat (it only beeps when you make an illegal move). * Bagels Desk Accessories 2 A game similar in concept to Mastermind. Find a four digit number. * Banner 1.0 Utility 2 Prints large banners sideways on the Imagewriter. The Imagewriter must be on the same disk. Allows you to tweek the characters before printing. Prints banners up to 8 pages long. * Banzai! Games 2 A fast game that pits you against a small ground army with only a single mortar to protect you. This is a promo for a commercial game called Airborne. * Base To Base 1.0 Desk Accessories 4 Hexadecimal, Octal, Binary and Decimal Base converter, and logic calculator. Has four register reverse polish notation (like HP calculators.) * BaseTool 1.32 Developer 2 Converts Binary, Decimal, and Hex numbers. * Bash Big Blue Games 2 A fast game that requires excellent coordination and good mousing skills. In the game you try to repeatedly destroy the randomly reappearing picture of a very well-known computer. * BCS¥Clicker Desk Accessories 2 BCS¥Clicker gives developers an easy way to figure what coordinates to use when designing dialog boxes, etc. * BCS¥Sleep Desk Accessories 2 This DA clears the screen and displays a moving BCS icon so that you know that the Mac is on. Blanking the screen prevents burn-in (only occurs when one static image stays on the screen for a very long time). * Beep Init Utility 12 Plays a phrase from the Dire Straights song Money for Nothing, instead of the regular Mac beep sound. You can create your own digitized sounds with the MacNifty sound digitizer and substitute them by naming them BeepSound. * Big Ben Desk Accessories 1 A digitized picture of London's Big Ben with a working analog clock in it. No sound yet but he's working on it. * Billiards 85.12.08.rec/spg Games 5 A graphic game of Billiards, with Straight Pool, Eight Ball, Nine Ball, Snooker, Slop, and Lag versions of the game available. Meant to be used with two players. * BinHex 5.0 Communications 1 A standard communications utility which allows you to convert .BIN files downloaded using COMPUSERVE, THE SOURCE, etc. to standard Macintosh files and vice-versa. Tips on use may be found in MACWORLD June 85 issue. * Biorhythms Education 5 Gives your physical, emotional and intellectual biorhythms when you give it your birth date. Also gives the number of days since you were born. Fun for parties, but does not interpret results for you, you need to know what the curves mean. * Black Box Games 4 A complex strategy game. * Bloom County Ä Graphics 1 Five pictures of Bloom County cartoon strip characters in MacPaint format. Files include: Cutter, Bill the Cat, Milo, Opus, and the infamous Banana PC Jr. * BootConfigure 1.2 Utility 3 Boot Configure lets you change the boot blocks in your system file, such as the names of the startup application, System and Finder files, debugger and disassembler files, startup screen file, scrap file and the system heap size. * BootEdit 2.0 Utility 6 Replace bomb box or startup screen icons with any other icon resource such as those created by Apple's Icon Editor, Icon Collector, Icon Switcher, IconMaker DA or those in the Desktop file. Also lets you edit the Welcome to Macintosh message. Works with Mac Plus. * Brickles 5.0 Games 2 A very elaborate pong game, with seemingly unlimited options for the user. Especially difficult when you choose to control four paddles on all sizes of the screen. * Bricks None Desk Accessories 3 A pong game in a DA. The cursor becomes a paddle and you try to destroy a wall of bricks with a varying number of balls. * Browseª Utility 5 Browseª simply lets you hunt through disks for any file. It displays all files on a disk very quickly. It also works with HFS, giving you a quick way to hunt through a disk's hirearchy for a file. * Cache Toggle Utility 9 Turns the MacPlus ram cache on and off without the use of the control panel. * Calendar 1.4 Desk Accessories 1 Installs a perpetual calendar that displays one month at a time. Stores notes for any day clicked. * CalendarMaker 1.2 Graphics 3 CalendarMaker allows you to design and print a calendar using MacPaint pictures as decoration. You can specify the year and other necessary data. * Camera Education 7 Demonstrates the relationships between F-stops, shutter speeds, and film speeds. * Camera Desk Accessories 2 Waits a specified amount of time before taking a screen dump. It will direct the screen to a paint file or the ImageWriter. The cursor can be visible or invisible. * Canfield 1.1+ Games 4 A classic game of Solitaire with a score based on time and performance. If you like this one, wait till you try Klondike!! Very addictive. * Cap'n Magneto Cap'n Magneto You become Captain Lance Magneto. Your ship has crash landed on a strange planet. You must repair your ship in order to get home. This game is fun, yet tough. Expect many sleepless nights wondering how to recover your space suit! * Catch Me C version Games 8 You are presented with a myriad of icons, all identical save one. Your job is to click on that one before it moves. A very tough game, improves mousing skills. * CCheck 1.0 Developer 2 Check C language source code saved as text for unmatched braces, parentheses, and comments. Counts lines also. * Change Font 1.03 Desk Accessories 2 Changes the default font in the Macintosh. Applications & the Finder use the default font to display certain things. * Chat Desk Accessories 6 This desk accessory allows two Macintoshes to talk to each other over an AppleTalk network. Based on the application of the same name. * Chatter 1.0 Utility 2 Allows users of AppleTalk to chat to each other. Much like the CB utility on Compuserve. Source code is available for programmers wishing to see how it's done. * CheapTalk Utility 7 CheapTalk works with MacinTalk to convert what you type into phonetics and speak it using the Macintosh speaker. Includes C source code. * CheckSum Desk Accessories 6 Calculates a unique calculated checksum for a file. Two file with the same checksum guarantees that they are exactly the same. * Choose Scrapbook Desk Accessories 2 This Desk Accessory lets you choose the name of the scrapbook you wish to use. This allows you to have many scrapbooks. * Cleanup 1.0 Utility 5 Cleanup substitutes strings in a text file. This is useful for removing Linefeeds from a Bulletin Board download. * Clipboard Editor 1.2 Desk Accessories 2 It will change the text information in the clipboard to all uppercase, lowercase, capitalize the beginnings of words or sentences, strip linefeeds or replace them with return characters, remove carriage returns altogether, or globally search and replace specified strings of text. It only works when text is in the clipboard. * Clipper Utility 9 Adds carriage returns to text in the clipboard to break up long text lines into shorter ones. * Clock 2.0 Utility 5 Clock gives you a large animated clock with world time functions. Unfortunately, it assumes that the time it gets from your Mac puts the Mac in Alabama, unless you tell it what time zone you are in. * Clock Games 3 A screen size digital clock is displayed on a black screen. Neat animation is performed on the digit as they change. Useful for leaving your Mac on while saving the picture tube. * Comments Desk Accessories 3 This DA allows you to read and edit the comments from the Get Info box of any file without being in the Finder. Does not work with Finders greater than 4.1. * Compress It Desk Accessories 4 Creates compressed copies of files (and expands them too!) Primarily for bulk file storage where space is at a premium. Program displays original and compressed file sizes and shows the percentage saved. Savings depend on the nature of the file and are typically around 20%, more for some files. * ConcertWare Songs Music 1 Various songs for use with ConcertWare or ConcertWare+. * ConCode 1.3 Desk Accessories 2 This Desk Accessory gives you information on any 68000 assembler instruction. It includes information on parameters, condition codes, and truth table functions. * Connect Four Games 4 Very similar to the Parker Brothers game. An easy strategy game. * Convert DA Desk Accessories 1 Converts desk accessory files from the old DA Mover format to the new Apple Font/DA Mover format. If you can't open a DA file with Apple's mover, try this program. * Convert Text 0.55 Utility 9 Converts text from Macintosh to other computer text file formats and vice versa. Works only under MFS. * Cookie 1.0.A Desk Accessories 6 Will provide fortunes from another Macintosh runnning the program Cookie Server on an AppleTalk network. * CopyFile 1.3 Desk Accessories 3 Using this DA you may copy a selected file from a selected disk to any other disk. * Counter Desk Accessories 6 Counts the number of characters and words in a Microsoft Word document or text file. * Crabs Desk Accessories 2 This Desk Accessory will crash your system when you run it. But it's fun to watch little crabs slowly eat up you screen. Be sure to SAVE all your work before running! * CrashFix 1.0 Desk Accessories 3 This DA, when installed, enables the RESUME button in the BOMB dialog box * CrashGuard Utility 9 Allows you to return to the finder at any time by pressing the rear button on the Mac's supplied programmers switch (the front restarts the mac). * CrashSaver Utility 4 Almost always allows you to return to the Finder if the system crashes. Very good for RAM disk users since your RAM disk files are saved. Install in your system file. * Cray4A Calculator 4A Desk Accessories 1 Very full-featured, programmable scientific calculator. Works best with 512K. Does absolutely everything... Memory operations, trigonometric functions, logs, factorials, powers and roots, scientific notation, cartesian/polar coordinate conversion, radians/degrees conversion, hex and binary and octal conversion, ascii table, operation via clipboard, etc. * Crystal Raider Games 10 A fun and challenging arcade game. * Cube Desk Accessories 1 A Rubik's cube game. The object is to manipulate the cube so that all sides have a unique pattern. * Cursor Demo Developer 3 Source code (lisa pascal) to a routine that makes animated cursors. * Cursor Designer 1.1 Developer 3 A cursor designing program. Lets you try out your cursor on many different backgraounds. Does not create resources. * Curves 1.0 Education 2 Draws recursive curves. Useful for learning about recursion graphics, and as a demo to impress your Macless friends. * Curves Education 2 Makes curves on the screen in response to mouse movement. * D2R 1.1 Utility 9 Turns a data fork of a program into the resource fork. * DA Example Developer 1 The assembly-language source code for the calendar desk accessory. Use as an example of how to write a desk accessory. * DAFile Desk Accessories 1 Developer's tool that lets you manipulate finder attribute bits (such as protection, locking and visibility, init, bozo, etc.) Also shows space available on disk and allows renaming of files. * DAFont Desk Accessories 2 This Desk Accessory does three things, it will show you what fonts and sizes are currently loaded in your system displayed in those fonts, it shows you the space that these fonts take up and their resource ID numbers, it will give similar information on Desk Accessories. * DASampler Desk Accessories 2 Allows you to open up Font/DA mover files and try out the desk accessories within (note that it can handle multiple Desk Accessories in a file) without installing them. * Day/Month Edit 9/86 Utility 12 This program allows you to change the names of the days and months in any program that uses the standard Macintosh date routines. Also the standard date format can be changed from American to European format. * Delay Developer 2 When selected, it slows down the mac to a crawl. Useful if you are in Mac DB and want to see what is going on. Very slow. * Depreciation 0.3 Utility 8 A very un-Maclike program to calculate depreciation schedules. * DeRsrc Developer 1 Decompiles a program into Resource Compiler source code. * DES 2.0 Utility 3 Encrypts and Decrypts files using the National Bureau of Standards Data Encryption format. * Describe Utility 7 This small program gives you some technical information on the Macintosh you are running on and which version of the system file you are using. * Desk Accessory Sampler 1.0 Desk Accessories 2 Allows you to open up Font/DA mover files (and any other file for that matter) and try out the desk accessories within (note that it can handle multiple Desk Accessories in a file) without installing them. * DeskZap 1.2 Desk Accessories 6 DeskZap provides you with most of the features found in various other file utility DAs. Included are: Set File attributes, Strip linefeeds, control characters, high bit, add linefeeds, delete a file, rename, copy, create a empty file, make an HFS folder, delete the resource fork of a file, and close a open (Buzy) file. * Diatom 1.0 Education 2 A drawing program. It will draw random star-like drawings based on random or specified factors. * Didler Utility 2 Allows you to strip or add certain characters to selected files. You may, by switching default disks, access other Scrapbooks. It may bomb if used with MacTerminal. * DigSim 2.0 Education 7 Digital Logic Simulator for circuit design. You need to know standard electrical symbols and diagramming. But then you can test out the results of different designs without actually building a circuit. * Dir-Acta-Ry 0.3 prerelease Utility 8 Will read a disk and turn its directory into an Actaª format file for use with the desk accessory outliner. Written by the author of Acta. * Directory 0.9 Utility 5 You can now find out what's on each and every disk that you own. Directory displays and prints directories of your disks for you. * DisAsm Developer 4 A limited 68000 code disassembler for the code hacker. * Disk Dup+ 1.1 Utility 8 Copies an entire 800k disk on a MacPlus in one swap, and has several copy options. * Disk Librarian 1.7 Utility 7 Looks through MFS or HFS diskettes, sorts the listings, and produces many different types of reports. Among many useful features is that it reads the comments in the Get Info boxes (very useful for extracting the get info from BCS¥Mac PD disks.) The best catalogger we've seen. * Disk Ranger Demo Demo 2 This is a cataloging utility. It works with Hard drive, makes labels, sorts, and shows all file attributes. * Disk Timer Utility 11 Times reads and writes on hard disks so you can compare it with the times for other hard disks. * DiskCat 1.0 Utility 3 DiskCat catalogs the contents of your disks, ignoring folders. It gives the file name, type, creator, name of the disk it's on, and a location field specified by you (such as blue disk box in my bottom drawer.) * DiskCopy 1.1 Utility 7 Copies entire 400K disks from internal drive to external drive. BEWARE: if you have a hard disk connected to the drive port, clicking Copy will erase it!! (Basically, whatever you insert in the internal drive will be copied to the external drive as soon as you click on the copy button, the program will not warn you if you make a mistake! * DiskInfo 1.43 Desk Accessories 1 Shows contents of disks by size, type, creator and modification date. Allows sorting by size and date from a pull-down menu. Also switches startup disks, shows and compacts memory and deletes files. * DiskLabeler Desk Accessories 3 An excellent Disk Labeling program. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with the Mac+. Allows you to pick and choose files in any order for labeling, also changes disk name on label without changing the disk. * DiskUtil Utility 2 Copies disks and repairs them. * DisplayRLE 1.1 Communications 1 View RLE text file images on the Mac, and create RLE text files from images pasted into the window. Will also invert images for better looks on the Mac screen. * Dissbits Developer 2 The Dissbits routines source code (several versions). * Dissolve Demo Developer 2 An example of the DissBits routine. * Divider Tabs Education 4 A MacPaint document used for printing notebook divider tabs on the ImageWriter. * Downloader 2.0b4 Developer 5 Allows the user to download font and postscript files to a laserwriter over Appletalk. Will also tell you how much memory the LaserWriter has available for fonts and such. * DrawFontSizer Desk Accessories 6 Lets you change the font sizes that appear in the font menu in MacDraw. This is easy way to get any font size in MacDraw when your final output will be printed on the LaserWriter. * DrawPaint 1.0 Graphics 2 Converts PICT format files created by MacDraw to MacPaint format for editing. Can also jump directly into MacDraw or MacPaint when you are finished using it. * Dungeon of Doom 4.0 Dungeon of Doom A Dungeons and Dragonsª-type game using a top view of the action. Like Rogue on a UNIX system, except much easier to use. * Dvorak 3.0+ Desk Accessories 1 Switches your keyboard to DVORAK layout instead of QWERTY. It would be a good idea to physically rearrange the keyboard (pull up the keys and rearrange them). Included is a MacPaint picture of a DVORAK keyboard you can print out for reference. Now works with Mac Plus keyboard. * DynaEdit 1.0a Developer 5 A sample application build with 40+ DynaField C source code routines for handling variable-length entry fields, organizing the entry boxes into a form, and providing edit support for both data and field names. The application demonstrates what can be done with DynaFields, the source code will be sent if you pay the $20 fee. * Dynamo 1.0 c Games 6 This is a demonstration version of the commercial product available from the author. It allows you to draw line images in different frames. Dynamo then plays the frames, interpolating the data in between, creating a very smooth transition between frames. * EarthPlot 2 2.0 Education 3 EarthPlot draws the earth from any perspective by altering the latitude, longitude and altitude of your view. Can also draw a latitude/longitude grid on the earth. * Ecology 1.1 Education 3 An excellent illustration of Predator/Prey relationships using the classic example of rabbits and foxes. Animation on the Mac makes learning fun. * Eliza Education 1 Eliza is a famous Artificial Intelligence program. You tell her your problems, and she discusses them intelligently with you. * Enigma 1.0 Games 4 Two dimensional Rubik's Cube-like game described in 10/85 Scientific American. If you get stuck (and you will!) the program will solve itself for you. * ExceptionEdit Developer 2 Lets you create your own exception rules for implementing in SpeechLab. * Explorer Desk Accessories 1, Developer 2 Displayes any area of memory in hex or ASCII. * Extras 1.5 Desk Accessories 1 Displays free space in memory anddisks in main or second drives. Can delete, rename files and also can compact memory. You may specify a new application to run after quitting the current application. Has keyboard shortcuts. Use in conjunction with Disk Info if you want every file feature covered. * Fade-To-Black 2.0 Desk Accessories 3 The best screen-saver yet. Bounces the icon of the application you are in around a blackened screen until you click the mouse button. * Fast Formatter Utility 6 Initializes disks quickly, one after the other. Automatically chooses either 400K or 800K format depending on your disk drive. * FastEddie2.2 2.6 Developer 4 A full featured demo version of a text processor. Useful for developers. The limitation of the demo is in file size. * FastPaintPrint Graphics 3 FastPaintPrint prints MacPaint pictures very quickly. * FastPrint Utility 8 Prints MacPaint files to an ImageWriter or a LaserWriter fast than MacPaint does. * FEdit 3.21 Utility 3 Allows you to examine and alter the bytes on any disk. Can be used to rescue damaged files. Refer to MACWORLD Sept. 85 page 158 and BCS Mac Newsletter June 85 page 15. * File Converter Utility 3 Does a global search and replace for text documents, using Linefeeds and Carriage Returns, as well as text. * File Tricks 1.1b Utility 11 Aids in recovering lost or damaged MacWrite files. * FileCopy 1.0 Desk Accessories 4 Copies files from one disk to any other. HFS compatible. Useful, but FileTools does this and a lot more besides. * FileMakerª Demo 1.0 Demo 1 Demo version of a great database program. It allows you to open each file 10 times, and is fast. * FileStar 1.0 Desk Accessories 6 Will perform many of the finder's functions, such as copying and renaming, as a desk accessory. * FileStripper 2.1 Utility 9 Strips linefeeds, control characters, high bits, and single carriage returns, and expands tabs with spaces. Tabs can be set at 5, 7 or 9 characters apart. A new file is created with for the stripped result. The original file remains unchanged. * FileTools Desk Accessories 4 Lets you change all the attribute bits of a file, copy, delete, and rename files, change type and creator, even launch into another application directly. Gives info on free space on disk, resource and data fork size of file selected. Also displays current system version and whether you have 64 or 128K ROMs. * FileTransfer 1.0 Desk Accessories 3 Allows you to copy, delete, and change file attributes on any selected file. * Fit To Mac 1.0 Utility 9 Moves upper right corner of top window to the upper left corner of the screen. If the window has a grow box, the mouse position will determine where the lower right corner is placed. * FixPic 2 Desk Accessories 3 Provides a better appearance for MacPaint pictures you paste into MacDraw. * FixUp Desk Accessories 3 A useful DA for modifying files before a file transfer. Strips or adds linefeeds, expands tabs, strips control bits, and overwrites input files. * FKEY Installer 1.1 Utility 3 Installs Function Keys (Command-shift-number sequences). Includes 8 FKEY's on disk: BigCursor (doubles cursor size), Comment Key (gets comments from Get Info boxes), Copy Screen (clips any part of screen to the clipboard), DA Key 2.02 (opens any DA file), Date Key 2.0 (types the current date), Fade Key (darkens screen) and Sleep. * FKEY Sampler ¹ Utility 5 Installs FKEYs (Function Keys, like Command-Shft-3, which dumps the screen into a MacPaint file) into your System file. Comes with six new FKEYs: Fontsie 1.5, VolKey, Clippy, PanicKey, ScreenTo Paint, ShowKey. * FKey/DA Sampler 1.1 Utility 7 Allows you to try out FKEYs and DAs that are not installed in your system file. Many features, documentation included. Allows you to create your own flashcards. Comes with ready-made quizzes concerning Composers, Hormones, Morse Code, and Multiplication. * Flow Desk Accessories 2 When chosen, this Desk Accessory shatters the screen slowly. There is no way to get out of it exept to reboot your Mac, so be sure to SAVE your work before opening it! * Flush Utility 9 Will flush the write buffer of the Mac Plus's ram cache. Allows you to make sure that critical data is saved to disk and not lost if a crash occurs when the ram cache is being used. * FMSound Music 1 Allows you to experiment with the Macintosh sound abilities. This program can be buggy causing a system hang-up or bomb. * Font Disk 1 Font 1 Has two files full of fonts: math & scientific equation fonts, and picture fonts. Similar to theThinkTankª. * Idle Desk Accessories 1 Darkens the screen when chosen. Protects the screen from burn-in and bounces a picture of the Mac around the screen to show you that it is on. Touch the mouse button to cancel. * IEdit 1.0 Utility 2 Edits and works with icons. * Immortality Utility 9 Will keep a desk accessory open between program launches, as if the desk accessory were 'immortal'. * Info 1.2 Desk Accessories 3 A DA mostly of use for programmers. Has time/date/alarm controls, a task timer, shows free disk space and memory, launches other applications, blacks out the screen when you take a break, opens DAs not in your system file, and more! * Inventory 1.0 Utility 8 A database application for keeping an inventory of the contents of your house (not business). Will sort items and print in a variety of ways. * JClock Utility 4 Puts a clock in the upper-right of the menu bar. Two versions are included, one displays hours, minutes and seconds, the other just hours and minutes. * Journal Desk Accessories 1 Allows you to record series of mouse clicks and keyboard input for playback. This is how the guided tour disks operate. Bombs occasionally (especially if disk is locked) * JoyPaint 1.2 Graphics 1 This neat little program displays, inverts, flips etc. MacPaint pictures. It displays the same amount of the picture as MacPaint, but the scrolling is accomplished by moving the mouse around a pad on the screen. It displays the entire page in the same way as MacPaint. You can't cut and paste in this program, but you can Save As a new MacPaint doc. * JukeBox Music 1 Works with MusicWorks to play a list of 32 songs, in order. * Kermit 0.8(34) Kermit A communications protocol implemented in an application. Has Binary and Kermit file transfer protocols. VT100 emulation, IBM mainframe communication and a lot more. Other necessary utilities are included, including a key editor for command key placement. * Keyboard Utility 2 Allows you to redefine the keyboard character by character. * Klondike 2.1 Games 6 Klondike is very similar to Canfield, another solitaire game by the same author. This game mimicks the more popular solitaire game with seven piles of cards. * LaserKey $4002 Utility 9 A new FKey that allows screen dumps to all Apple printers, including the LaserWriter. * Launch Utility 4 Launch will launch a non-application program (say a BASIC or MacWrite file) upon startup. The document must be saved as text. * Launch Desk Accessories 3 Launch takes you from one application to another without going thru the Finder. Speeds operation when you do a lot of application switching. * LaunchKey Utility 9 Launch Key allows you to quickly start up another program without quitting the program you are running. Good for user groups distributing disks of public domain and shareware software. The program can also be customized with pictures. * Life 1.0 Education 1 Life simulates the growth and degeneration of basic forms of life. Real time and very fast. (Also see New Life.) * LifeSaver 1.0 Desk Accessories 4 If MacWrite bombs and you have previously run this DA, you will get an option to resume and save what you were working on before restarting! Lines, Boxes, and Ovals are displayed quickly in flowing patterns. * Lister Assembler Allows developers to easily make listings of their programs. Prints any text file, can use different fonts, condensed type etc. * Living Art Graphics 3 A nice graphics demo of white lines twirling on a black screen. Can also be used as a screensaver deveice if you leave your Mac for a while and don't want to turn it off. Very small. * Localizer 1.2 Utility 2 Automatically modifies a system file to become compatible with a foreign country conventions. Changes keyboard layout, time format, date format, monetary symbols, etc.. * Mac Yahtzee Games 9 The familiar dice game for one to four people. You can play it by yourself as solitaire, but not against the computer which only acts as a score keeper. * Mac'N'States 2.1 Education 4 The US is broken down into 8 regions on an on screen map. You first choose a region, then select one of three options-Teach, Find, or Read. For example: in Find mode you are given a state to find within a region. When you click on the correct state outline you are given its name, capital, and abbreviation. * Mac's Headroom Desk Accessories 6 This is an animated desk accessory that displays the famous computer generated talk show host, Max Headroom. * MacBillboard 4.0 Graphics 3 MacBillboard is intended as a supplement to MacPaint. It gives you the capability to design and print 1'4 by 1'8 billboards, posters, greeting cards, and T-shirt Iron-ons. * MacBugs! Games 1 Similar to the Mouse Stampede game. The object is to zap everything. In this case, Macintoshes, XLs, mice, and the evil apple that zooms across the screen often kill you before you know what happened. You are placed on a field with random obstacles and must defend yourself by shooting at the various enemies. * MacClone 2.0 Utility 2 A disk backup utility which can back up many protected master disks. * MacCommand 1.0 Games 10 This game is similar to the arcade game Missile Command. Use the mouse to shoot the approaching missiles and save the cities. Nice music at the beginning. * MacConcentration Games 4 Exactly like the board and TV games of the same name. Object is to remember the positions of objects behind windows and match them up with their pairs. Up to four players, 20-100 boxes, 2 sets of objects (one hard), hints if you want them. There is even a feature to toggle the sound off if the boss is coming! * MacDump 1.0 Utility 7 MacDump is a copy of a Unix-type hard disk backup utility, it only works with MFS (old style) disks. The user interface is lacking in any macish features. * MacHangul 2.1 Font 5 Korean fonts and word processor in a DA. Uses the Hangul character set. * MacHeads 1.01 Games 4 A logic game where the object is to get Steve Jobs' head surrounded by tails. When you click on a head, it and some neighbor icons will flip. You need to get all tails in as few moves as possible. Optimal play should never take more than 6 moves, but the game is harder than it seems! * MacID 1.0 Utility 7 MacID displays various bits of information about the type of Mac it's running on, including the version of ROM's and system file. * MacInHebrew 2.0 Font 5 Right to left word processor in a DA that works with MacWrite. Also includes Hebrew fonts. Makes it easy to combine Hebrew and English text in one document. * MacinTalk 1.1 Developer 2 This is the file that must be on your disk in order to implement speech synthesis in your programs and utilities such asSpeechLab and ExceptionEdit. Comes with an example SpeakFile and source code to show you how to use synthesis in your programs. * MacLanding 0.6 Games 9 A game very similar to the Defender arcade game. * MacLuff Games 4 Pente-like game in which the object is to get five in a row on a large grid against the Mac. Hard to beat! Note that it does not support the Apple menu. * MacMatch Games 10 Game similar to Concentration, with a rebus behind the windows. You turn over two items at a time, remembering their positions and trying to find pairs. When a pair is turned up the part of the rebus behind the pair's windows is revealed. The first person (up to four can play) to guess the solution wins. This version has only one rebus puzzle. Send $20 for more puzzles and instructions for creating your own. * MacMusic Demo 0.1 Music 1 Demo Version of MacMusic, a music editing and playing program. * MacMusic Songs Music 1 Various songs for use with MacMusic. * MacPascal Install Utility 2 Copies MacPascal onto a hard disk. * MacPhile 1.2P Utility 4 MacPhile is a very limited database that can supports variable record sizing and sorting. Not commercial quality, lots of bugs, but will do for personal record-keeping at a good price. * MacProtect 1.0 Utility 12 Allows you install protection on a program so that a password must be provided before it can be run. * MacSevens Games 3 A card game. The object is similar to crazy eights, you try to play all of the cards in your hand before the other player does. * MacSnoop 0.9a4 Utility 11 A disk editor that goes down to the character level. Similar to FEdit, but without the MFS file recovery tools and with a stronger adherence to Macintosh user interface guidelines. * MacTrivia Games 6 Trivia game with some rather good questions. * MacWait Developer 3 Causes the Watch to have revolving hands when the Macintosh is waiting. Running this program installs the program in the system heap, so rebooting your Macintosh will get rid of the feature. * Mailing Labels 1.0 Utility 8 Mailing Labels is a program designed for printing pages of mailing labels on the Imagewriter. Warning! There is no facility for fine tuning the measurements. * MakePaint 1.1 Developer 3 Converts PICT resources to MacPaint documents. * Mandelbrot Education 5 Teaches about Mandelbrot and Julia sets, higher mathematics topics. Many options for shading, and bounding, even does color output. Comes with example file Seahorse Valley. * Mangle 1.0 Beta Utility 10 Lets you do a global font or ruler change in any MacWrite 4.5 document. Useful when you want to change all occurences of one font to another, or to change the margins in all rulers. * MapScan 1.5 Utility 10 Notifies you of the maximum amount of contiguous space available on an HFS disk. This number, as it decreases, partially reflects the degredation in performance of that HFS disk (Small contiguous size = slow file access) * Mass Initializer 1.01 Utility 2 Initializes disks, one after the other, until you quit. * MassCopierª 1.1 Utility 1 Copies disks using all 512k of memory, for mass duplication. A bit slower than 512k Copy but easier to use. Unlike 512k Copy, it also verifies disks. Works on a Mac+ to copy 400K disks. * MasterGuess Games 4 Just like MasterMind. Determine the patterns and positions of five pegs by guessing and logic. The Mac is really good at this game so we advise playing against another human for your own sanity! * Match Games 9 This is a very simple game in which you have to match shapes with the shape chosen by the computer. Sound effects are included. Most suitable for young children. * MathMaster 2.1 Education 6 An educational program that can solve and graph most algebraic equations. * MathTutor 1.2 Education 6 Teaches how to do long division. A difficult educational program to use. Options can be locked out by an instructor. * Maxwell 2.1 Desk Accessories 3 A game with a playing field of two enclosed chambers of fast and slow moving balls. The object is to get all the fast balls into the right side of the chamber. Holding down the mouse button opens the wall between the chambers. * Maze Wars Games 1 A survival game that pits you against other humans in a maze. You view the maze as a mouse would (with walls, corridors, etc... You need to have an AppleTalk network connected between two to eight machines in order to play this game, but it is well worth it to experience the human factor in your game playing. * Maze2 Games 8 Draws any size maze in one of three resolutions, then times you as you drag the mouse through the maze to solve it. * McAssembly 6.0 Assembler Allows developers to conveniently compile in 68000 assembly. Comparable to Apple's 68000 MDS development system. Linker and Assembler in one program. * McBug Assembler A simple debugging aid for developers in 68000 assembly. * MCS Communications 2 A communications utility for Mac to Mac direct file transfers and/or Mac to Mac (1-1) conferencing. MCS is very easy to operate, it calls up the other mac using a connected Hayes compatable modem, connects with the other MCS and automatically transfers chosen files in both directions automatically. Anytime during the connection, the users can type messages to each other (even while file transfers are going on). * MCS Editor 1.0 Communications 2 This desk accessory will physically modify the MCS program resources which hold the phone number, modem speed (baud) and so on. This makes MCS usable to the novice. (MCS is a rapid file transfer utility.) * MDS Edit 2.0 Utility 2 The text file editor to use for most purposes. * MDS Make 1.0 Assembler This program is a replacement for Apple's Exec utility. It works with either McAsm or Apple's MDS development system. This program takes you and your source code between Edit, Link and Asm. * MEdit 1.5 Utility 6 Basically an enhanced version of Edit, Apple's MDS text editor. Has macro capability and more. All the programmers in our Tech Group love it! * Megaroids+ Games 2 Clearly the best arcade game for the Macintosh, rivals the arcade version of Asteroids. Makes good use of Mac graphics including 3 dimensional overlapping asteroids. The interesting fact about this game is that it is actually an ad for the Megamax C development system (and I might add, a very persuasive one). This new version works on the Mac+. * MegaWatcher 8/12/85 Desk Accessories 2 This Desk Accessory tracks the loading and unloading of resources. You may specify any resource type (code is the default) and MegaWatcher will keep a continuous display of all resources of that type. With MegaWatcher, you can determine the size, location, and status of each resource. * MenuClock 2.1 Utility 3 Puts a clock in the menu bar. It stays there permanently through opening and closing applications, using Switcher, hard drives etc. * MenuEdit 1.0 Utility 2 Allows you to edit the menus on files. Very buggy. One of its features is the ability to add keyboard shortcuts to the menu options. Saves a lot of time. Always select an option key that is not already in use. Experiment first on a on a non-critical disk. * Message Desk Accessories 3 Any message entered in the on-screen box will display, billboard style, across the face of the Mac. * microEMACS 0.6 Utility 5 microEMACS is the Macintosh version of the classic program editor. * Mighty Finder 1.1 Utility 4 A Finder-substitute that allows you to change the type and creator of each file and some other information as well. * Mini Sci Calc 1.0 Desk Accessories 6 A desk accessory calculator that includes many scientific functions. Created using the Dubl-Click Calculator Construction Setª. * MiniAda 1.0 Education 3 A miniature Ada compiler. Useful if you already know Ada so you can experiment and figure out how to operate the program because there is no documentation. A sample bit of source is included to get you started. * MiniDOS Desk Accessories 2 Allows you to rename and delete files. It randomly clicks the mouse, moves and drags, types, etc. * Monopoly Games 2 Acts as a manager for the board game. Rolls dice, keeps track of money, who bought what, etc... * Moose Frazer 1.0b1 Desk Accessories 4 Creates new phrases for the Talking Moose desk accessory. * Mouse Print Developer 2 A window pops up to give you the sceen coordinates of the mouse along with the region that is associated with it. * Moving Lines Utility 9 This FKey, when invoked, will blank out the screen and produce an interesting graphical display of moving lines on the screen. * Multi-Scrap Desk Accessories 1 Similar to the old Scrapbook, but allows you to create multiple Scrapbook files. * MultiTasking Print Desk Accessories 2 Allows text files to be printed out in the background, while you move on to something else. Only works on the Imagewriter. * MusicPaint Education 4 A music painting program, just like the title says. Basically the same as MacPaint with musical symbols in the palette instead of the usual stuff. Very easy to use. * MusicWorks Demo Music 1 The first real Macintosh music system. Demo version. Only allows for playback of pre-recorded songs. A review of this program can be found in MACWORLD, June 85, page 72. * MusicWorks Songs Music 1 Varoius songs for use with MusicWorks. Can be played with the MusicWorks player on this disk. * MW Rescue Utility 10 This program attempts to recover information from a MacWrite file and place it in a text file. Unfortunately, it is not very effective (try MS Word, PageMaker, or Grep DA instead). * My Time Manager Demo Demo 1 A demo version of a personal time manager, which includes a note taker, calendar/appointment maker, and expense breaker. Keeps track of time spent on various different tasks. Never forget a date or appointment again! * myMiniFinder Utility 5 myMiniFinder is a replacement for Apple's MiniFinder. This one comes up only when you want it to, as opposed to every time you quit a program. * Mystery Box 1.00 Games 9 Deductive reasoning game where the object is to find up to four balls hidden in a grid by observing the results of shooting rays through the grid. This disk also has many installed Desk Accessories (MockWrite, DiskInfo, MockTerminal, etc...) and MDS Edit which all aid you in using and working with QuickFile. * QuickPrint .7 Desk Accessories 2 You can print a page header, ignore line feeds, print line numbers, choose tab widths, choose lines per page, left and right indents, maximum number of characters per line, ultracondensed, condensed, extended, elite and pica types of printer (all imagewriter generated). Similar to RamStart, this program will automatically create the RamDisk, copy files to it, switch control, and eject the disk with RamDisk+ on it. A RamDisk utility can occasionallybe extremely useful for single-drive users. Will optionally install a CrashSaver. * RamStart 1.3 Utility 1 Creates a RAM Disk in memory. Works with MacPlus. * RasNix Desk Accessories 2 This Desk Accessory is a stripped-down miniature Unix shell. It is on a separate disk because it is so large. * Red Ryder Program 9.4 (7 & 8 available) Red Ryder Program Every feature ever invented seems to be in Red Ryder. It is the standard in Mac telecommunications programs. A steal at $40.00. Some features are: self-writing Auto-dial/logon macros, MacBinary, XModem, Automatic timer, Unattended operation, VT52 & VT100 Emulation, Command key macros, 300-9600 Baud operation, Kermit protocol, Modem/Printer port switchable, etc... * REdit 1.0 Utility 1 The European version of ResEdit, much simpler. * RefList 1.0 Education 7 Combined with your word processing and database programs, RefList can be used as a complete bibliographic system. Very useful if you are writing a paper, thesis, or manuscript. * Regress Education 2 A crude, but accurate regression that allows you to choose dependent and independent variables. It calculates the Coefficients, the standard error of the coefficients, the T statistics, the mean and standard deviation of the estimates. It also gives your the sum of squares, the mean square error, and the degrees of freedom. * Reminder .3 Utility 6 If you use the Calendar DA with notes to keep track of your day, this utility is for you. Each time your Mac is booted with the Calendar disk, it automatically reads the current day's appointments or notes and displays them for you. Peruse them at your leisure and then click to exit. * Remount HD20 Utility 10 Remounts the Apple non-SCSI HD20 if it has become dismounted due to system problem. Be sure to keep it on floppy so that will be useful. * ResEdit 1.0.1 Utility 1 Allows you to modify, copy, or create icons, cursors, fonts etc. Some uses for the program are written up in MACWORLD July 85 page 30. Works with both MacPlus and the 512K Mac. Also see the series in The Active Window January 1987-March 1987 on neat things to do with ResEdit. * Reset LW 0.20 Beta Desk Accessories 6 Performs the equivalent of turning the LaserWriter off and on but easier on the printer hardware. * ResPreloader 1.1 Utility 12 Will set all the preload and/or non-purge bits in a program's resources on, so that the program will run much faster with all of the its resources in memory. Be sure to make backups before using this program to alter other programs. Also, 512k of memory is required. * Resume INIT Utility 5 Allows you to quit to the Finder when your Mac crashes! * Reverse Screen Utility 7 Reverses black and white on the Mac screen. Once run, it is effective as long as the Mac is on. Many feel that text is easier to read white on black. Seems to work with all applications. * Reversi Games 1 A computer version of Othello. Ripper will take a PageMaker document and 'rip out' the pictures and text and turn them into an Acta file, each as separate topic. * RoloDA Desk Accessories 3 A Rolodex in a desk accessory version. * RPN Calc Desk Accessories 1 Apple switched from this Calculator to the current one just before releasing the Macintosh. Operates in Reverse-Polish Notation as opposed to algebraic notation. RPN is the form of entry used in all HP calculators. * Saviour Desk Accessories 6 Saviour will select a particular menu item (such as SaveÉ) regularly, making the saving process somewhat automatic for the really buggy programs that you might not trust with your data. You can specify in several ways how often Saviour should save for you (every _ seconds, every _ keystrokes or mouse presses, or after _ seconds of inactivity). Saviour Keeps the settings for each program that it is activated in. * Scan 1.0B1 Utility 11 Scans files on a disk for errors, and will report all errors via dialog boxes, including information such as the type of error, bad block number, and the fork the error was found in. * Scavenger Mac Nov. 1985 Utility 12 Checks directories and allocation blocks and recovers files from HFS volumes (not hard disks.) Won't work on MFS. Useful for people who know about HFS disk structure. * Screen Maker 1.0 Developer 1, Graphics 1 Allows you to set a MacPaint document as the StartUpScreen replacing the familiar 'Welcome to Macintosh' screen. * ScreenDump 2 Desk Accessories 3 Works like the F-key but produces a cleaner image screen dump. You can choose, via a menu whether to dump the active window to disk or printer. This is similar to 'Camera' on BCS¥Mac Desk Accessories 2 which has more features. * Scriptor 1.0 Utility 9 Takes an MS-WORD file and reformats it into two-column script format. * ScrnEdit 1.3 Developer 1 Creates screen, menu, window, dialog box, alert box and icon resource files for use with any development package. Files are saved as text which must then be converted with RMaker into resources. Many example files are given. * ScrollPaint 1.0 Graphics 2 This program scrolls a series of Macpaint documents slowly up your screen like the credits in a movie. Can be very useful for presentations and in fact that's what it was developed for. Simply load screens, up to available memory (which is shown in the menu item Memory.) * SCSIstop Utility 10 Will shutdown SCSI hard drives more effectively than the Finder's Shut Down command. * Sequencer Utility 6 Allows you to set up sequences of programs to run. Especially useful at startup, if there are several things you always like to do when booting. Works ONLY on the Mac Plus, doesn't work with the Skip-Finder DA. * Servant 0.89 Utility 10 Andy Hertzfeld's famous program to replace theFinder and Switcher. Allows you to run multiple programs at once with all the programs remaining on the screen in different windows. Servant also has some simple resource editing functions. Works only on Macs with 128k roms. This version expires on January 31, 1987. * Set File HFS 3.3 Desk Accessories 2 Allows you to edit any of the finder attributes of a file, such as type, creator, lock, protection, visibility, bozo and init bits, etc. Now HFS compatible. * Set Paths 1.3 Desk Accessories 6 Allows you to set the HFS folders for a program to look in when it is searching for files. This is especially important when compiling programs which include lots of other files. With this DA, you no longer have to specify the full path name for each include file. A companion to Boot Paths. * Set Sound 1.3 Desk Accessories 2 Allows you to change the volume level on your mac by typing a number between 0 and 7. * SetFileInfo Utility 5 SetFileInfo allows you to alter the Locked, Invisible, Bundle, System, Bozo, Busy, Changed, and Inited bits that are associated with every file. It also allows you to change the Horizontal and Vertical locations of that file within any given folder, and alter a file's type and creator. * SetMenuFlash 1.1 Desk Accessories 6 Allows you to set the number of times a menu item will flash in acknoledgement before doing the task. This feature is not in the new Control Panel from Apple. * ShapeArt 1.0 Education 4 Has a tool palette of simple geometric shapes that are treated as objects so they can be moved around,in a MacPaint like screen, individually after they have been placed. Each shape can be manipulated to any position by grabbing it with the mouse and moving. Shapes can be easily removed and new ones picked from the pallette. This program could easily used by a pre-schooler are icons as well as words. * Show Clipboard Desk Accessories 6 Displays the contents of the clipboard. Can be used to suppliment those programs which do not support this feature. * SICN Editor 1.0 Utility 13 Edits, creates and saves small icon resources. Does all the dirty work for you. * Silicon Volleyball Games 4 A ball and paddle brick bashing game. Not too difficult. * Skel 2.2 Developer 1 A skeleton application in Lisa Pascal, with source code, for aid in developing your own programs. * Skeleton Developer 5 A sample Macintosh application with available source code (free, through the mail) for those who want to learn what makes up a Mac application. * SkipFinder 6.1 Desk Accessories 1 Allows you to skip the Finder when switching between programs. Similar in functionality to Apple's MiniFinder. * Slide Show Graphics 1 Reads in a text only file (create one with MacWrite, MockWrite, etc...) and displays each of the MacPaint pictures listed. Only the upper left corner of each picture is displayed. Will not let you cheat. The object is to fill up all four stacks along the right in ascending order from Ace to King in each of the four suits. The data is graphically displayed on the screen as it is sorted, providing a fascinating way for comparing the different types of sorts. Takes just a second and all you have to do is double-click. This is the ORIGINAL arcade game, first played on an MIT mainframe. The Mac version is an excellent imitation. NOT MACPLUS COMPATIBLE. * Space Warp Utility 9 Another screen saver. When invoked, this FKey will blank out the screen and display space warp animation on the screen. * Speak Desk Accessories 6 Speaks whatever text is typed in. Will speak both plain and phonetic text. Also allows you to change the speech rate and pitch. * SpeakEasy 1.0 Education 3 Takes any text file and speaks it. Choose natural or robotic mode, male or female sex, putch and speech rate. Even edit exception files and use them to correct bad pronounciations. MacInTalk must be on the same disk, and is included on the Education 3 disk. * SpeechLab Developer 2 Allows you to try out MacinTalk speech synthesis. Female voice not yet implemented. * Speed Check 1.5 Utility 1 Checks the drive speeds on the Macintosh. Not very useful since there is no way for even a dealer to adjust the speed of a drive. The questions are difficult. The program also plays part of the Star Trek theme song. * Stars 1.3 Desk Accessories 4 Simulates flight through space. Useful as a screensaver when you are going to be away from your work for awhile. * StartupDesk Utility 6 INIT resource that makes the startup screen into the desktop background. * Stuff Clip 1.0 Desk Accessories 2 You are given a list of 32 control characters that are not usually available from the keyboard and stuffs it in the clipboard. * StuntCopter 1.0 Games 10 An arcade game that may be too easy for some. The object is successfully drop the stuntman from the helicopter into the wagon. Nice graphics and sound, complete with a flipping man. * Super Copy 1.1 Utility 11 A copy program that claims to back up most copy protected software. * SysAlerts Developer 1 Once installed in the System file, it changes the format of the bomb box, so that it is more descriptive about what happened. Also dumps the register values and gives you the option of returning to the finder (great for hard disk users) * SysPwd 1.0 Utility 13 Set as the start-up program, this program will require the correct password before the Mac will finish booting. Protect your Mac from prying eyes! Multiple passwords are allowed, and a file is kept of logons, including the attempted and failed ones, so you can tell what authorized people have been using your Mac. * SysVers 1.1 Utility 6 Gives the version numbers of your system file and ROM chip. Useful when you work with a lot of Macs and systems, or have random disks lying about. * Tab Expander 1.0 Desk Accessories 6 Reads in a text file and optionally removes tabs and fills with spaces and/or makes the line endings compatable with Macs, IBMs, or Unix systems. * Tab Expander 1.0 Utility 10 Will remove tabs from text files and replace them with the equivalent number of spaces. Tab Expander is useful with programs that use text files but do not recognize tabs. * Tablut 1.0 Games 10 A two-person board game involving game pieces called Swedes and Muscovites. Although it plays the same as Othello, in the real game you usually aren't insulted by the program when you try to make an illegal move or, god forbid, win against the computer. Also allows you to click as if you were on a telegraph machine. * TextDiff 0.9 Utility 13 Saves a file with a list of the differences between two text files.
