Remember at school, when you thought you looked shit hot in your Kappa trousers with poppers down the side? And now you just think "What a twat". Exactly the same thing happens with musical movements. Like garage rock. Who doesn’t look back at their Beatings records with a disdain normally reserved for photos of that awful mid-90s haircut? Not This Is Seb Clarke. They might be an overblown 12-piece, but even the addition of a brass section doesn’t stop ‘Spring Morning Sunshine’ sounding like the sort of thing Billy Childish would toss off in between spats with Tracey Emin. Just if those spats were soundtracked by a West End pit-band.
