Starting the log again

What do you mean "again?"
I suppose there's multiple meanings. This is my second real attempt at a Gemini presence (I'll save that for another log). That could be it, but there's a second meaning to "again" that I am taliking about.
There was a previous attempt to get the gemlog up and going. This involved quite a sophisticated scripting situation due to me wanting two seperate gemlogs (one technical and one not). Check the footnotes for a technical description. I scrapped that plan out of sheer frustration. I even vaguly vented about it on station. I'm still going to write; I'm just going to do everything by hand for now.¹
The Setup
XFCE's thunar file browser can load templates of files when you want to make a new one. I have one for gemlogs. Then once I'm done writing, I'll update the log's index.gmi file and then sync everything up to tilde.pink. I don't really need a complicated static capsule generator; this is all possible due to Gemini's simplicity. No shade to those who use something like that, or something else more complicated.
Footnotes
- ⁰ I was piping the output of rsync into two different grep commands to see if the two seperate gemlogs had changed. All so I could run Solderpunk's gemfeed.py script twice ONLY if needed. AND THEN FOR EACH GEMLOG, if the script did run I wanted to ping both antenna instances about it. In the end, it was the final step that caused me to scrap that idea.
