corpses

dusting is dealing with corpses

we've grown desensitized

it's funny how easily

we disguise our discomfort

we say "they didn't pay

for rent or groceries

or make amazing music,

why should i even care?

they're like us but they aren't us

it's ok to be indifferent

and i can sleep just fine

knowing no-one "good" had died

we say the same for cows

when we hear them crying

for the loss of their mothers

their children

because we wanted milk
