productivity (and lack thereof)
i have been busy as of late. i made friends, i fell in love, i try to find work, i'm continuing my studies (on my own, i don't go to any school)
i want to write a little bit about productivity, and how hard it is to get back into the groove after some time away from my old workflow.
i usually use emacs all the time, every day. emacs requires a lot of memorization: i need to remember basic emacs commands and shortcuts, as well as my own defined macros. not to mention that some key combos differ depending on the active mode.
without regular use, it slips away quickly. i can still re-learn it easier using 'c-h b', but it's frustrating to have to do.
sometimes i wonder if it would be better to use an alternative system.
until then, maybe i'll try to allocate, say, 20 minutes a day on emacs productivity stuff? maybe i'll be more active on here with notes and such about that.
maybe i should use that 20 minutes for /general/ productivity research, rather than just emacs? not sure. all i know is that i'm slowing down.
