Melodic Flatline

One may wish to automate the otherwise tedious task of reducing all note events to a single pitch (unless your DAW has a thingy that does that) so that one may more quickly review the rhythm of a melody.

The script may need tweaks, most notably that complicated MIDI files may need to have various tracks removed from them, or just the main melody exported, so that the drum parts and whatnot do not mask the rhythm of the melody.
