Given Lieutenants one might expect there also to be Rightenants; this suggests a missing officer particle, something like dark matter in other, less reputable, theories. There are obviously 'up' and 'down' spin states for all these particles, though some historical materials indicate a third 'neither up nor down' state for soldiers.
