The NEW Fantasy Life Day

Level 5 announced a release date for May, 21. Last release date was April, but they slipped it to May. They are going to simultaneously release on Switch, PC (Steam), PS4/5, and XBox. They’re going to support cross-play and cross-save progression.

Early access is available Sunday of that week. Not sure if that’s Sunday in Japan or where. Once it’s possible to purchase it, I’ll have a better idea. It’s really expensive on Switch and has an option for a deluxe version that’s maybe $10 more.

There are some new Life choices available (painter and… farmer?).

Island customization is a thing. Both from the perspective of where to put things but also terrain modification.

The game allows up to four players over the internet with a couch co-op option to pop into someone else’s game as a small floaty companion of some sort.

Right now my biggest worry is that the game isn’t actually releasing on all the platforms and instead it’s releasing a streaming client of some sort to all of the available platforms to play it remotely, but a trailer made it look like the Switch version allows offline play, so maybe my concerns are entirely unfounded.

I’m going to choose to be optimistic and eagerly await the release.
