Scammers and Criminals Rely on Weak or Submissive Media
Posted by Roy Schestowitz on Nov 22, 2025
Top of the front page of The Register MS at this very moment:
"US layoffs in October reportedly hit 20-year high," says one headline this weekend, "with major tech firms [read: GAFAM et al] leading 2025 cuts" (layoffs, not "cuts").
Microsoft, as we noted yesterday, seems to have fired over 30,000 workers so far this year. Not that the media tells the real numbers, it keeps parroting fake but "official" (from Microsoft's spokespeople) figures.
Microsoft had mass layoffs every month this year. Because they know they are faking their economic status quo, not because of slop (they love claiming the layoffs are due to "investment in AI"). The complicit media helps relay such obvious lies. Microsoft is also making lots of cuts in the slop teams and slop projects, as we showed before.
The whole slop frenzy (the media calls it "AI", RMS has other names for it) shows to what extent a failed media apparatus can usher in pyramid schemes and profit by promoting pyramid schemes.
Earlier today we showed how weak media also ushers in corruption. █
