1 Tbsp olive oil

1 medium shallot, (about 1/4 cup)

4 cloves garlic, minced

⅓ cup low sodium soy sauce

6 wt oz tomato paste

2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp red chili sauce, (such as Sriracha)

2 tsp smoked paprika

1 cup porter beer, (stout beer will work as well)

⅓ cup real maple syrup

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp black pepper

Heat the oil in a pot over medium high heat. Add the shallots and cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the soy sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, chili sauce, smoked paprika, porter, maple syrup, onion power and black pepper, stir until well combined. Allow to cook until thickened, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
