The Baofeng UV-5RM Plus: My Upgrade With Frequency Copy Function
I recently upgraded to the Baofeng 5RM after using the classic UV-5R for almost 2 years, and it's a huge step forward. The UV-5R is still a fantastic radio, but the 5RM adds modern features that make it more convenient and versatile.

@half_elf_monk on a trip. 10 people with 2 cars. the other driver had a CB radio in his car and 2 small PNI radios (only PMR) to talk between cars. fell in love the moment I first heard the other car (testing the signal at a distance of ~2km) via the small radio in my car. · 1 week ago
And to anyone with a $100 to spend — the upgrade to Yaesu FT-65R is so worth it, at least in an urban/sub-urban environment. Otherwise, be prepared to squelch all the time. I had an opportunity to test it in an emergency situation earlier this year and eavesdropping on firefighters on site in Altadena was a breeze. · 1 week ago
