Open question for all: The icons on the pc desktop, better vertically, horizontally or directly without icons?

If I'm using a DE (whether complete, like LXQt, or home-grown, like my IceWM setup), the icons are vertical. If I'm using a plain WM (usually SwayFX, but I'm looking to switch to bspwm, River, or Velox), there are no icons · 5 months ago

Empty desktop, quickstart icons in the task manager and a whole lot of shortcuts. But if I would use icons then in groups so they look pleasing with whatever background I'm using. · 5 months ago

well, for working, i prefer windowmanagers like ratpoison. for my gaming machine, i do not care. firing up some game launchers do not require a special direction. therefore i need a good mouse. · 5 months ago
