I might be making things up, but I think Martin once said that it's just a generic space station — no special meaning behind it. And I think someone even posted the image from which the ASCII art was likely made. · 8 months ago

I only see the size of it as a "problem" when visiting from offpunk, or from a terminal in general. it quite literally takes the first full screen. Deedum on my phone can scale "quote blocks" and just shows it in smaller font.

But, it's a "problem" that is solved by pressing the space bar, so...

imo it looks like DS9, and is fine where it is. That said: what if clients had the option to write/implement client-side macros to relocate/hide blocks of text on specific pages when/if loaded? That's probably overengineering. Reminds me of the good old days of MUD clients that did ... a lot of things to telnet plaintext. · 8 months ago

Maybe these feelings depend on the monitor's DPI. For me, it's about 50% of the height, so I have to scroll all the time. I'm not sure that ASCII art is really scalable, so I only see relocation as a possible option, or perhaps just disabling it in the account settings. · 8 months ago

@jmcs I also think it could just be a bit smaller, but I don’t think moving it to the bottom is necessary.

I don't have hard feelings about it. Maybe it could be a bit smaller? also, what is it? Am I ousting myself as non-nerdy enough not knowing if it's a spaceship, or where it is from? · 8 months ago
