Folks, after a few months of work, I launched a new app. It's on big fat web (sorry): https://langsesh.com. If you check it out and have any thoughts to share, that'd be amazing. It's not public yet, but sharing here because it's a safe space :)

Feedback from a duolingoing 8-year-old I showed it to: the "easy" mode is already way too hard. He seemed to enjoy it anyway though. Feedback from me: I find this sort of hidden use of LLM rather creepy, I'd prefer to see it directly explained somewhere that this is what's happening, especially if it's hosted by a third party. I found it worked fairly well, though "hard" was too easy, the "match words with their translations" bit often had mistakes, and it for the freeform text section it was too tempting to test the boundaries of the LLM rather than play it straight. · 7 months ago
Cute website! Is the LLM stuff just there as a development tool or are you going to use it in production? My story had some nonsense elements to it which made it harder/ill-formed to translate. · 7 months ago
@arubes Thank you so much for checking it out and feeding this back. This is a great point and I'll factor this into the next bits of work. · 7 months ago
that is fantastic Martin! thanks 🧡
The Spanish lesson was interesting and I sort of completed it but it was too hard to gain insights as my level is so low...
Maybe an 'even easier' option will benefit me · 7 months ago
@danrl Thanks for this feedback! I have a huge list of improvements to make, and hopefully I can get that learning experience to be much better over time. Appreciate you taking the time to have a play! · 7 months ago
this is good. ran through a spanish exercise and even though i have not spoken a thing in many years i could male ok progress. comprehension is the hardest still, but most other things were doable. good stuff! · 7 months ago
