Yeah. The experience of not having to consult a recipe at all seems to make the whole experience more immediate and engaging, and understanding the principles behind what I'm making helps with improvising around the limitations of what I have on hand. Definitely more enjoyable cooking this way. · 4 years ago
I think there's sort of a threshold you must cross with cooking before it becomes fun. Beyond that threshold, it becomes sort of self-sustaining. The reward of improvising together great meals makes you want to do it more, which increases the skill and increases the reward. · 4 years ago
